Texas Tech 2nd degree BSN program 2015

Published

Hey I was looking for a new thread on the people applying for the Texas Tech 2015 accelerated 2nd degree BSN program, specifically Austin, and couldn't find one so I thought I would start one. All the previous threads have been really helpful. Is there anyone applying for the Austin location?? Anyone already have their CNA or planning on getting it soon??

@lsilagy Try this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/539456076201262/

If that doesn't work add me on facebook (Christopher Falgout) and I can invite you to the group, facebook will not allow you to invite people to groups directly unless they are on your friend list.

@mys193 I'm at the Austin campus too but the group is open to anyone taking the program, I figure once in the group the particular cohorts can get to know the specific people in their town.

I'm new to this site and I haven't figured out how to PM anyone yet, but I'd be interested in the books! Can you send me a message with details?

Actually, yes lol. I've just never been to Lubbock and I don't know where to start!

I still haven't received any notification. Called Elizabeth today and she said the rest will go out today or Monday by noon, so I'm trying not to lose hope!:( I applied and interviewed in Dallas.

Was that only for Dallas?

I just received notification of my acceptance to Lubbock!! Hope others of you out there got good news too. Let us know!

@nurseandmomtobe

did you submit your application close to the deadline? Just tryin to establish some sort of pattern. All so random.

Was that only for Dallas?

I think it was for everyone who applied. She said if you don't hear anything by noon on Monday to call. Since its already 4:30 I doubt I'll be getting any notification today.

I was denied acceptance this afternoon. Honestly, I thought it was a mistake! And that maybe they sent me the wrong email. Totally in shock and disbelief! Congratulations to everyone who got in! You all will be amazing nurses :)

@Cochanel what location did you apply to?

Same here. Got my rejection letter this afternoon for the Austin location. Bummed but at least I know. Congrats to everyone on their acceptance :)

Hi everyone--Haven't posted for awhile now. Just got acceptance to Austin, on 9/11 at 4:09 pm. I am wondering for @Flyonn and others who are currently in program--around how many hours are you away from the home in a week, would you estimate? I do know it varies, and I know it is two clinicals per week, so at least 26hours, but was shocked when I showed up for interviews and current students were saying the first three weeks of the program were 8am-5pm, M-F!! Also that for all speciality rotations, there were (3) 12's required per week ( neccessary to stay on top of clinical hours). I know the times vary depending on your coach, but can anyone give me approx time spend away from home during the summer months? (And how long your psych/maternity/any other speciality lasted where you did THREE clinicals in a week)? I know that's a lot of info!! If anyone can give me info would appreciate it! Thanks!!
