  1. @bella_27 I know 3 people in the Lubbock cohort. One is a friend and the other two are in my CNA class. There is another thread on here I've been following that had a lot more posts through the application, interview, and acceptance phases. One of the guys actually started a group on Facebook for anyone accepted...search "TTUSON 2nd Degree BSN, 2015". If you can't find it tell me your name and I can add you. Cheers!
  2. I just received notification of my acceptance to Lubbock!! Hope others of you out there got good news too. Let us know!
  3. @lele8907 you might also try looking for a back house or efficiency in Tech Terrace or Rush neighborhoods. I've known a few people who have had really nice/cute places in these areas. But @duffel0521 is right, anything around campus will be all college students and it's SO easy to get around in Lubbock. You can get across town in 10 minutes give or take. I live pretty far south in Lubbock and UMC/TTU is on the north side of town.... I can get on the Marsha Sharp Fwy and be at UMC in 10 minutes or less.
  4. @seahorse1 thanks for posting. congrats!
  5. @ckraider14 : from what I've gathered, some Amarillo and Austin were notified Tuesday of their acceptance and Wednesday some Dallas and Lubbock. And then today a person on here mentioned knowing of someone who just got their Austin acceptance this a afternoon. So who knows what tomorrow holds... Any others accepted today?
  6. @Nurseandmomtobe : the other women who heard, which site did she apply to and did she find out on the same day as the others or a day later?
  7. I also received an interview in Lubbock and was only able to see one day of time slots too.
  8. @kaseyroo @flyonn Will you go over the interview process and what it was like for you? What to expect, tips, questions, etc? I've read quite a bit about the process on other threads but would appreciate any additional input either of you can offer. Thanks in advance!
  9. misslo84 - According to Merlin, interviews are supposed to begin mid to late August with notifications of acceptance going out in September. I am applying to the Lubbock cohort so I don't know if it varies with location or not...
  10. Not sure about interviews. If I remember correctly, one of the advisors told me we might know as early as end of August or September. Anyone who has completed the program, in the program or applying to the program care to share their stats? Undergraduate GPA: 3.3 (lower than I would like...) Science GPA: 4.0 TEAS: I took this today and am still waiting for the results.
  11. BluDrgnFly: Thanks for your reply. I am working on a few pre-reqs myself. I actually took nutrition online last semester. This semester I am taking microbiology at TTU during my lunch break and then an online chemistry course through a local community college that meets once a week for lab. It's pretty convenient since I work full-time. I think you being in the healthcare field all your career is definitely a plus for when you apply. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors!
  12. Anyone applying to Texas Tech's Second Degree BSN program for the spring 2015 cohort? Specifically, the Lubbock program? What is your current profession? Experience in healthcare? Have you completed all the pre-reqs? Are you a CNA? If not, will you be certified before or after the application deadline? Anyone currently in the program or anyone who has completed the program are welcome to comment too! Let's get chatting!
