Texas Tech 2nd degree BSN program 2015

Published

Hey I was looking for a new thread on the people applying for the Texas Tech 2015 accelerated 2nd degree BSN program, specifically Austin, and couldn't find one so I thought I would start one. All the previous threads have been really helpful. Is there anyone applying for the Austin location?? Anyone already have their CNA or planning on getting it soon??

Agreed!! Don't worry! You'll probably hear something tomorrow :) please post when you do because I need to meet some people going to Amarillo! :)

@seahorse1 thanks for posting. congrats!

Congrats to everyone that got accepted, you should feel really proud as it's a difficult program to get accepted into. For everyone else, keep your head up, try to improve on your weak areas and reapply next year. I know of a few people that didn't get accepted their first try, so it can be done!

On another note, when you guys get your book list, if anyone wants to buy my books, they will be for sale...I'll beat whatever price Amazon is selling them...just send me a PM.

Congrats to everybody that has received an acceptance so far! On the thread last year I looked at, some people didn't find out until the last minute. So keep your hopes up! I applied to Austin but interviewed and was accepted at Lubbock! So anything can happen! :) BTW, does anybody need a roommate in Lubbock? or know where a good place to rent? I was looking at the edge near campus! Also, I cant find the FB for the like of me.

@lele8907. I did my undergrad at Tech. Most places near campus are for undergraduates and are typical college places - loud and noisy with annoying neighbors. If you can find an apartment off of 4th street opposite the HSC there are more HSC/Grad students living there and it's more sedate. I lived at Las Colinas Apartments near the mall, Lubbock is small and it was never more than a 4 minute drive to campus but rent was much cheaper. They are older but well maintained, I had a two bedroom townhouse for $700. Another place you can look is Quaker and the north loop, lots of cheap student housing there and it's close to campus (driving/bus).

If that doesn't work just add me on facebook and I will send you an invite that way, Christopher Falgout

For Lubbock people. I applied to Austin but I did just graduate from Texas Tech and spent 4 years there. I lived at University Pointe off Glenna Goodacre my first year and then the Republic at Lubbock the next three. I DO NOT recommend Upointe and I would recommend the Republic especially cause my 2nd and 3rd year there was quite quiet but it tends to be a party place. I don't know what your each looking to spend but I would take a look at the Centre and the Suites at Overton park. It can be noisy around game days but a lot of professionals live there. My friend lived next door to a surgeon so that pretty cool to talk to him sometimes. Anyways other than that I recommend what duffel0521 said about living off 4th street across from HSC. I know that there is an apartment complex over there that is only for graduate students and might let you stay. I actually think it might be The Edge I can't remember.

@lele8907 you might also try looking for a back house or efficiency in Tech Terrace or Rush neighborhoods. I've known a few people who have had really nice/cute places in these areas. But @duffel0521 is right, anything around campus will be all college students and it's SO easy to get around in Lubbock. You can get across town in 10 minutes give or take. I live pretty far south in Lubbock and UMC/TTU is on the north side of town.... I can get on the Marsha Sharp Fwy and be at UMC in 10 minutes or less.

Hey I tried searching for that group but it won't come up!

Is the facebook group for a certain campus. I am at the Austin campus

Oh okay nevermind then!
