I haven't seen a thread for those of us applying May 1st to the January 2020 cohort. I'm wondering how heavily they weigh the TEAS. Also, I have heard as long as you meet all criteria they typically give you an interview. Has anyone else heard this? I really like how they take a holistic approach to grant admissions. I'm wanting to apply to UTA but I feel like the main way you get extra points is by attending school there which I did not do! We'll see!
Hey All!
I just made an account after stalking this page for the last month. I’ll be a part of the San Antonio cohort. I’m currently active duty so I have no choice but to work full time. I work the Panama schedule if any of you are familiar with that. I also have a lot of leave saved up for this program. But for the most part, I’ll pretty much be working everyday for a year. I currently know someone who is active duty in this program with children and it’s working for her. We can do it ! It’s only one year right?!
@cxyoung I’m also active duty AF (currently a group exec officer) and airfield ops officer by trade. They gave me an assignment to Germany last October and I 7 day opted so that I could go to nursing school. I can’t believe you’re staying on AD and doing this program!! I talked to a few girls who are currently in the Abilene cohort and they said one person in their class was struggling bec he was working as well. What career field are you?

I'm at med tech at BAMC, Air Force as well. I went to school last year full time and my leadership really supported me. My enlistment ends Aug 2020 but I was thinking of extending then commissioning but I'm not sure where life is going to take me. Are you in San Antonio?!
Hey @sammie.sosa the acceptance update said we’d receive an email to set up a Raider nurse email account. I wouldn’t stress about it. It’s only been 2 weeks since we found out.
CONGRATS @jillhill81!!!! So glad to hear it all worked out!

almost 2 years ago now, the first phone call I had with Kyle Chapman he said we cant tell you that you are allowed to work but you should know that it is very difficult to work and do this program so for maximum success you should plan not to work. That was a big part of why I pulled my application last year. My work has graciously said they will create a PRN position for me and that I can work when it is best for me. But I know I won the lottery in regards to my work I have some AMAZING nurses that I work for and they are willing to not only see me succeed but help me succeed.
that being said i will likely only work a day here or there if my study schedule allows i basically don't anticipate working over 80 hours PRN during the ENTIRE program
