I haven't seen a thread for those of us applying May 1st to the January 2020 cohort. I'm wondering how heavily they weigh the TEAS. Also, I have heard as long as you meet all criteria they typically give you an interview. Has anyone else heard this? I really like how they take a holistic approach to grant admissions. I'm wanting to apply to UTA but I feel like the main way you get extra points is by attending school there which I did not do! We'll see!

I have a friend who has a 1 year old and is doing another program pregnant. She just started in September and found out she was pregnant like a week before. Her program is longer bc she's not second degree and it's also not online so she always has to be in person. I have a 2 year old but thankfully my husband a big family to help us. If I were in that position id look at all my financial aid options and hire someone to help with the kids or daycare if u can find a trusted one. I think u can do it, but you know yourself better and know what you can handle!
I'm honestly not too worried about completing anything or getting anything together because honestly if they haven't given us the information they obviously don't expect us to get anything done that we dont know about. The email from cindy said there is a webinar next week. If you have everything on the application portal with a green check mark and you've done what your acceptance letter said to I think you're good to go.

My enlistment ends Aug 2020 but I was thinking of extending then commissioning but I'm not sure where life is going to take me. Are you in San Antonio?!
you may be able to just see about commissioning instead of extending, talk to a recruiter there may be some way to do permissive tdy or something and then after graduation head straight to COTS? no harm in asking the question.

Im currently trying to figure out how I’m going to pay for this program ? I’m going to fill out a FAFSA today and probably look into private loans (I don’t think loans from FAFSA will be enough). Does anyone have any recommendations for private lenders or have any experience with them?
I get where you are coming from, my GI Bill was pretty much completely used up with my pre-requisites so I don't have enough to cover the entire year and of course living expenses. I will use the remainder of my GI Bill and then Hazlewood Act for the remainder of my tuition cost. I'm lucky to have that as an option. However, my husband and I have already decided we are going to take at least a small student loan to help us stay financially stable because losing my income for an entire year is going to be a massive hit to our finances. I just keep reminding myself that I will pay off the debt as quickly as possible and ultimately its the investment in my future that will be worth it. I think the BIGGEST benefit to this program is that it is just 12 (admittedly DIFFICULT) months. Endure it for the year and ultimately we will reach a massive goal in our lives. I'm updating my fafsa but i don't expect to be eligible for much in regards to pell grants since they only take into account the prior year tax return and my husband and I currently make great wages(especially considering we are only 30). So i will have a bite the bullet and look at student/school loans.
