Hello everyone!! I know it may be a little early to start this thread for the Fall-16 Admissions into the SON @ TXST. The application Deadline is quickly approaching and I thought I'd start this. I am super nervous because I always hear that getting into nursing school is a difficult process. This will be my first time applying into any nursing school.
My Current Stats :
Overall GPA : 3.67
Science GPA : 3.61
I am taking my TEAS V in Jan a week before the application deadline. I know that is pushing it kind of close.

Personally, I'd hold off. The background check is obviously being sent out in phases, for whatever reason, and has nothing to do w/ admission status. Even if you don't get the background check email by the end of March, you'll still have plenty of time to get fingerprinted and receive the blue card (not due until July).
It could just be my personality, but I wouldn't want my name tied to asking why I hadn't received something when they are likely sending them out as fast as they can get them processed, kwim?
I considered not posting when I received mine, but I did to let folks know that they are being sent out in waves and aren't an indicator of admission/ non-admission.
Hey everyone,
I am also in the class of 2017, just a few more weeks till you all find out. This is a really great program with a lot of people who are here to help you succeed. If any of you have any questions please don't be afraid to ask. Also, once you all find out, I would suggest creating a Texas state University S.O.N 2018 facebook page, it has been such a great tool to really get to know your class, and to help each other out throughout the semester. Good luck to everyone..

It is hard to say, it changes due to the scheduling of the hospital. Last semester we had one day off, 3 days of classes and 1 day of sim lab/clinical mainly sim lab. This semester we have 3 days of classes and 2 days of sim lab/ clinical, mainly clinical. You should be able to look up the classes for fall 2016 to see the days and times.

Are there any weekend classes? I currently work weekends, and would love to continue part time at my job on the weekends, but am nervous about ending up with classes or clinicals on on those days.
