Are there any evening or weekend option nursing programs in the DFW? (ADN or BSN)

U.S.A. Texas

Hello Everyone....

I planning to apply for Srping 2010 programs ADN and BSN and I know majority of them are day programs. But I was wondering if there were any programs in the DFW area that have evening or weekend options. I know that TWU have a weekend option but that wouldn't apply to me bc I don't have a BA in another field.

Thanks in advance.....

Specializes in L&D, OB Triage.

I heard that Weatherford College had a weekend/evening ADN program, but not sure if it still exists; you may want to check it out!

Thank you I will look into that.....:typing

Specializes in Med Surg, Ortho.

Tarrant Co College has Saturday clinicals, I think. But the lecture days on weekdays.

I've heard the same about Weatherford college.

Good luck in your search.

Specializes in ICU, ER, HH, NICU, now FNP.

I believe Trinity Valley Community College had one. Not sure whether that is still true or not.

You should not rule out TWU so soon. Check there website, I am applying for Fall 09 but there are only a few classes that they look at to calculate your GPA if you already have a degree. As long as you have these prereq's I think you should be fine. I am also a 2nd degree seeking student and had to take some of these courses ( and retake a few). I've taken a lot of the courses through DCCCD because they offer a variety of flex terms and online courses. Hope this helps. :nuke:

I am currently a part of Weatherford College's evening/weekend class. This is the first time they have offered the ADN program this way and so far it has been awesome. We attend class M & Th from 1-9:30pm with a 1 hour dinner break, Wed 1-5 and all of our clinical work is on Saturdays. The fall class is during the day M-F but they may offer this program again beginning in January 2010. Let me know if you have any questions. Best of luck!
