U.S.A. Texas

Is there anyone else out there who has applied to Cy Fair or Kingwood College for their ADN-RN progam for Spring 2006 ? Today, September 15th was the application deadline.

i applied and got in, I was in the 11.4+ range

Have any of you considered applying to Houston Community College's RN program? You don't have to take the Hesi test... you just need your pre-reqs, pass pharmacology with a 75+ and your pretty much in. I just got my acceptance letter for this spring. I know in the fall the take appx 200 students.... and 30-60 in the spring... it's something to consider maybe if you wanted another option.

I ended up getting into CY-FAIR---FINALLY WOOHOO!!

I would think KC because it is the only evening program in the Houston area.

HCC has an evening program for the RN associates degree program. They take 150/semester (according to the website)

Hi,

I thought it was 90 + in pharmacology to get in, or has it changed?

thnx

No you have to make a 90 or above on the math exam and at least a 75 overall average to be admitted into HCCs program.

Hi there, Just wondering if anyone knew what Kingwood and Cyfair closed at this last spring?

I'm not sure about CF or kingwood but I was accepted this fall @ Montgomery and they closed at 11.4. North Harris closed at about 11.1. The pts just seem to go up every year. Last year Montgomery closed at 11.1.....I wish i could have been more help. Good luck!!

Congrats on getting in... Yes, I agree I think the points are going up..... geez.. Im at a 11.3, and well, I guess well see where it goes.. I dont really want to do this, but seriously thinking of LVN and then bridge over. I dunno.. its an idea.. Thanks for your input!!

Don't give up;) !! I believe you will definitely get in with an 11.3! Doesn't Cy fair have a spring start ADN program? I know Kingwood does.....you will get in, so apply to the ADN program!! The best of luck :)

You know, if you are unable to get right into an ADN-RN program, you might try an LVN program. I'm going to San Jac south to do that. After you've finished your 1st year, you can transistion to RN. It's the same amount of time in school, and with the waiting lists these days......well, you know. Also, if you get a job as an LVN some companies will pay for you to get your ADN. You should look into it. I found that the LVN program isn't quite as competitive.

Does anyone know when we should be receiving our letters, I know the website says Nov, but do you think we will get them say Mid-Oct? This was my first year to apply, so I am not sure how quick, slow they are about doing this.. Im really not that optimistic about getting in this time, but just want the confirmation either way..
