I will be finishing up the ADN program here in Texas and instead of taking the nclex here, am I eligable to take the test in a different state like RI or CT even if I went to school in a different state? I am asking because we are moving the month I finish nursing school and I dont think I will have enough time to prepare for the nclex; also, I want to start an internship in CT or RI and they typically start in June.. I went to the BON website and I didnt see a real answer.. The only thing I found was applying for licensure in that particular state after I recieved licensure in my state. I am really confused

Hey guys, I got into North Harris for this Fall and I am taking Pharm over the summer through distance learning @ Montgomery . I just got my book and I am freaking out-- how hard was this class? Any advice? help lol

Hello, I will be starting nursing school (again) this coming Fall. I am really interested in working in the NICU and I am wondering how to get my foot into that specialty? Do they offer internships in the NICU for nursing students? I would love to hear some of your stories about how you were able to get your foot in the door to the NICU. My previous nursing instructor had told me that sometimes they prefer nurses who dont have alot of experience because you work differently in the NICU and some nurses have difficulty unlearning (is that a word? lol) some of their habbits and that the NICU is a whole different world. I have no idea if that is true or not-- just something that I was told. My concern is that if I work a different specialty right out of school, like Med-Surg, will that ruin my chances of eventually working in the NICU? Since I have this summer off, I am trying to study and read up on that specialty as much as I can-- I know how busy nursing school is and how quickly time flies. Does the NICU ever allow nursing students to shadow them for a day? Thank you ! =)

I am interested in any feedback from anyone who attends North Harris.. please :) What is a good clinical site to choose, and which professors would you recommend? Thats too bad Cy-Fair doesnt let you choose!

Atrice, I think that is great that you and your sister are both in nursing school at the same time!

I had an 11.17 (lol)and was accepted into North Harris. I did not do well on the Hesi exam.. obviously

Natthomas- Thanks :) - Good luck with the BSN program! I wish I would've went that route too, but I didnt take all the prereq's
