I live in the DFW area and you do have a valid concern. I've known 2 people who have been reported: 1 (a tech who had just graduated from RN school) filed a libel suit against the manager who reported her, the hospital, and (I think) GroupOne as well. It took about 2 weeks for her "record" to get cleared up. The 2nd person was a monitor tech & he had to relocate to the Austin area to find work.
Neither of these people did anything wrong or violated any laws, they merely pi**ed off the wrong manager.
GroupOne only exists in the DFW area. So, if you live in another area there is no concern.
You can come to East Texas/Longview, no group one here. We are also still new grad friendly....
I've been contemplating applying for the GN Residency at Good Shepherd. I live in Austin, and I was hesitant to relocate that far.
Can you please give me some insight to what the city life is like in Longview? I'm not concerned so much with entertainment options, mainly safety and a good hospital to work at.
Thank you in advance!

Longview is a great town, about 75,000 with lot's of bedroom communities (suburbs) Like everywhere there are goog and not so good areas amd schools. Hallsville and Diana are very good with short commutes (15 minutes) or so.
I'll e-mail you with more info.

I am a new grad RN, and I am interested in moving to Texas for work, but I am terrified of GroupOne. I have an excellent record with both of my previous employers, but I don't want my record to be ruined if I don't deserve it. I am getting the impression that if I do something in a hospital that someone does not like, even if it's something that I did right, they can retaliate with GroupOne. The worst part is that if I move to Texas, it would preferably be the Dallas / Fort Worth area, as my fiance may have work waiting for him there. It seems that DFW is the area most saturated with GroupOne issues. Am I making something out of nothing? Can anyone provide me with words of wisdom? Any and all input is welcome, thank you in advance.
