Just wanted to start a thread about the GN residency that THR just opened up. Hoping we can keep each other updated on the application process (application status, interviews, job offers). Good luck!

Do you all by chance know how many people they are even taking for these residencies. Because I heard that Fort Worth NICU only hired one.

Its possible its based on the size of the facility and need of the unit but i'm just taking a guess here

They are hiring 2 for the Plano NICU. I don't think they hire as many per unit as other hospitals do.
oh wow that sucks! Did you hear this from the recruiter? I was told they look at internal and nurse referrals and I have neither so time to move on. Also, someone a while ago said they got an interview, so they have probably finished there interview process.

Applied to ER in Arlington and got rejected even though I work at the hospital as a tech -_- . I have heard THR entity-wide had preference for TCU and UTA students when they opened the THR GN positions in February...and I'm not a student at either of those schools. From the info I received they were interviewing those preferenced students and making offers back in February, BSNs or ADNs, didn't matter. I have received an offer from a med surgeon tele unit with THR the same day I interviewed. Honestly don't feel like I even had a chance in this highly competitive, political environment that is DFW nursing.
thats so unfortunate; i did see on their website that they have a partnership with UTA nursing, so I guess it makes sense. Both those schools probably have clinicals at the THR arlington location.
we'll find jobs and congrats on the offer!

I had three interviews last week at different THR units. 2 of the 3 only are taking one resident, and that's for med/Surg floors. Although I live in the dallas area permanently, I go to University out of state (at an excellent school, but out of state none the less) and never worked as a tech. I have not heard back from any of them yet. DFW is in fact much more competitive than I anticipated. Giving it my all to stay positive!!!!

You are correct- TCU (mostly) and UTA both interview for the open THR positions in january and are offered the open jobs the beginning of february. Whatever is still open is then opened in February on the main THR website. I think they are just trying to increase their number of BSN nurses. You will find a job- don't loose hope!!!!
