Hi,
I am currently enrolled in a full BSN program and am going through my A&P class, I study, take good notes, and most importantly I definitely learn the information. Well last week we had our first test (multiple choice) I went through the test at a good speed as most of the answers I knew right away, well before I handed the test to the professor I decided to go back and check over my answers, when I did that I proceeded to start second guessing my answers and changed ALOT of them. Needless to say we went over the test after class and my 90% went to a 70%!!!! I am great at essay tests but this professor loves the multiple choice format, can anyone offer any test taking strategies?? Thanks in advance for your help!

With multiple choice tests you need to do them slowly. Read the question carefully, pick out the key words and understand what the question is asking.
Look at the answers and eliminate the wrong answers.
Now pick your answer.
Do not go back and change your answers! Don't second guess yourself, more often than not the first answer you choose is the correct one.

I agree, never ever change the answers if you were sure the first time. When I take a test, I put a mark next to the ones I am unsure of, so I go back and check those. Usually I also cross out the wrong ones and write a rationale for what I chose - this helps me decide. So far it has worked me for a BA and nw in nursing school.
