How many of your nursing schools allow you after a test to review your missed questions so you many know what you got wrong & go back on your own and review the material?

Ours does but from what I've read - you cant bring paper/pencils in with you. (I start in Jan 09 and thats what I read in the student handbook)

We go over our tests to review problems that were missed. I think its important to understand what you got wrong and why. Sometimes before finals we will have a review of all our old test.

We have what is called cooperative testing after our test we get into groups of 3 or 4 we have numbers for testing so we are not in our regular seats during test. When we get into our groups we retake the test as a group. If we make at least a 90 on the cooperative testing we get 2 points added to our grades. After the cooperative testing our tests are reviewed in class so we know what we have missed right after both test are done. There is no talking or going out of the room without an instructor between the two twsts I have gotten alot out of it because it helps to understand while in a group why the answer you choose was wrong.

We have a review the day after our test so that we can see what we've missed. We can then discuss any answers that we missed. We're allowed to have pen and paper to take notes in the event we want to challenge any questions, but the instructor makes sure that you're not coping word for word.

I have a friend who is in a different nursing program than me here in Oregon and they aren't allowed to review their tests unless they fail. I like to be able to see what I missed so that I can review or listen to the rationale.

The BSN program that I am in does NOT do test reviews. They will on regular exams (not finals) give us a printout that tells us which question numbers we got wrong and give us a "blueprint" of the exam that tells us the topic of the question. We never get to see the actual test or questions after we take it. There is no discussion done after the test. :)

We leave the rm after taking our test to go down & look @ test key that is posted on another hall. No talking, pens, or paper. This area is guarded by 1-2 instructors. Let's us immediately have an idea on what we made. They also let us have a silent review w/our old tests a few days before finals.

We usually review immediately after each test, and we can make appointments with the instructor if we need more time go over our test.

There is no pre-finals review session where they hand us back all of our tests for review, nor do we review the final immediately afterwards...though we can make an appointment next semester if we want to go over the final.

If everyone has taken the test we have review right after that class. They put all the questions up on a stage (our class is in an auditorium) and you can walk up and look them over. You can not bring anything with you at all. We can also ask our proffs to review them with us privetly or go to the study skills lab and have them go over them with us. My instructor set up a time that we could review all of the tests in a room before the final, once again no pens or papers until we turned in the test copies. This was helpful, I had already forgotten some things from the first week. :)

We have our test reviews right after the test. We cannot record or write down questions or answers from the test. The instructors do allow us to write down the source, of which the information is found. We also have a short discussion on questions that people get wrong. I like the review, especially because I can know how many I got wrong... right then and there. I usually don't go to test reviews unless I feel as though I did really bad. Test reviews are helpful if you have finals...you really do need to know what you get wrong to improve. My first nursing course had no finals, so I never went to the test review.

:yeahthat:

We have two forms that we put the answers on, a scantron sheet and the test form. We turn in the scantron, you know the fill in the bubble sheets, and keep the test form. After everyone has completed the test, our instructor will call out the answers while we grade our test. After that she will go over any questions we have and even considers our rationales for answering questions that we missed the way we did. We have convinced her to accepted two answers for some questions on all of our tests.
