Temple College 2015

Published

Hello, I just wanted to start a thread for those of us applying for the LVN or RN programs at Temple College for 2015. We can share information, discuss any concerns, talk about the HESI exam, getting cleared through the Board of Nursing, or the just nursing program in general! Those of you that are already in the program are more than welcome to chime in.

PLEASE NOTE: I am in no way taking responsibility for any wrong information given, nor will I moderate this thread. I just want to meet new friends and support one another through the process of applying and getting our acceptance letters!

Thanks brandiew7678 I applied for LVN at the Taylor campus. I scored an 89:unsure:.. Idk if that's enough... So many awesome scores out there...

That's great! I only made an 87 on the Hesií ½í¸•. When you applied, did she give you any idea how many people had applied?

Thanks Maldo! I couldn't find that info.

Luckily I got a call back today. I was told about the 4 month option for hepB vaccine so I will definitely be asking my doctor about that at my appointment. & I too will be getting CPR certification taken care of very soon.

Also I was fishing for insight on the competition. She said (this is Temple campus info) they did not have the best turn out on the number of applications (didn't give a number & I didn't want to be pushy) & they are taking 60 students. So I read in an earlier post that near the deadline someone was "#77". So not too bad this year! This is my first year applying but I've heard of much larger numbers of applicants in the past, making it awfully difficult to get in. Fingers crossed for everyone here! & hopefully we will all be meeting in May! Also I was told we should know if we're in or out in February.

Hello everybody! I have applied for lvn and also plan to apply for adn when it's time. Can anybody tell me for certain that I don't have to retake hesi or different test to apply for adn if I took hesi for lvn?

And btw read a bunch of posts and am happy to join this group of lovely women.

í ½í±†this lovely lady above me, I'm proud to call my bestie!

Hi Amy! Welcome!!! I'm not sure about your question, but I'm pretty sure that Summer can help you out! Did you apply for Temple or Taylor campus? I appliied at the Taylor campus. The wait seems to take foreverrrrrr!!! Lol!! Good luck and again Welcome!

Thank you! And I applied to temple campus. And omgoossh yes the waiting and anticipating is killing me!

Btw earlier I should of said women AND men!

Ya'll need to make sure that the nursing dept. has your transcripts. I was called Monday and informed that they didn't have mine. I called admin and their records showed that they sent it on Dec. 15. So in a month, they couldn't send it across the street :/ They told me they were going to resend it yesterday, I need to call now and make sure they got it.... frustrating....

@Amydrake: Yes, you can use your Hesi scores from the fall for the ADN program. I spoke personally with the ADN program director about this because I planned to take the Hesi a second time in the spring if I didn't do well in the fall. She said if you make a 95 or higher, you have maxed the number of points you can get for that section of the admission criteria and to NOT try for higher because they take the most recent score. If you tried for higher and got a 93, they would score the 93 and not consider the 95+.

@Maldo: Yeah, I was afraid of something like that happening. I just brought a copy directly to the office. The LVN secretary wasn't there though, so I gave it to Nancy Street (ADN secretary) and she said she would place it in her mailbox. If they goof again, I would just go to the office and pick it up. It doesn't cost anything. Not sure how close you live to campus though.

I called this morning and they just got it. I was a little scared, since it is due tomorrow. whew.

Glad they were able to get that taken care of for you Maldo!

I will not start obsessing over the mail. I will not start obsessing over the mail. Oh who I am kidding.....
