Hello, I just wanted to start a thread for those of us applying for the LVN or RN programs at Temple College for 2015. We can share information, discuss any concerns, talk about the HESI exam, getting cleared through the Board of Nursing, or the just nursing program in general! Those of you that are already in the program are more than welcome to chime in.
PLEASE NOTE: I am in no way taking responsibility for any wrong information given, nor will I moderate this thread. I just want to meet new friends and support one another through the process of applying and getting our acceptance letters!
hey guys! I am really needing some advice for nursing programs. currently i am attending MCC for my pre-reqs and everyone tells horror stories of how hard and competitive it has become. A few people in my classes are transferring to temple for the program. I know for MCC most applicants have a 4.0 and go off of a points system. I currently have two A's and a B for my pre-reqs and have my co-reqqs set up for spring semester at MCC but was informed I may have to retake the B to get an A. I don't really know anyone who has gone to temple so i don't want to get wrong info since MCC nursing seems so high strung thanks
Hi,
So I hate to put it out there cuz this is super fresh.. But I just failed my first semester of the ADN program this fall. I'm planning on moving to Killeen & I was looking at CTC to apply for the program then I came across temple college & I actually have and meet all the pre-reqs, co-reqs, and HESI score.
So here are my questions:
How is their program like?
when does the program start?
How many students do they accept?
Have you met anyone that failed & transferred from another college to temple?
Thanks so much
They raised the minimum score to 80 for each three areas on the HESI for ADN 2016.
The program is frontloaded during the first 8 weeks, you will feel super busy. The second 8 weeks of the first semester isn't bad, this is when you start going to your clinical sites. They focus on math and other fundamentals, especially skills check-offs. Be prepared for pharmacology to take most of your study time, but you can flashcard in that class and hopefully get through just fine.
The new freshman class always start in August.
They accepted 58-60 in our freshman class.
I know someone that transferred their pharmacology class from another college.
They split the class into A group and B group. They are essentially the same except one group will either get out early on Wednesday while the other gets out early on Thursday. I was B group.
The first 8 weeks: Mon: 12-4pm Tues:8-4pm Wednesday: 8-2:45 Thursday: 8:30-1:30
The second 8 weeks: Mon: 1-3pm Tues: (on-site clinical)8-3pm Wednesday: 8-2:45 Thursday 8:30-1:30
Hope this helps!

Im not saying they wouldnt take her but when I applied they said to be competitive you need a 3.5 gpa + and you needed a minimum 75 HESI to apply. From what I hear they dropped the HESI requirement so I dont know they might accept her with her score. She should definitely apply and if they dont accept her she can always boost that score next time.
