Hello everyone!!! Anyone attending TECO (KISSIMMEE, FL) LPN Program starting Jan 2011? I can't wait. Sooo excited. I hear it is a great school. Good luck to everyone starting LPN soon. :stdnrsrck:

Hi everyone, I really need help. I just got my A.A. and my pre-reqs, for the Nursing Program at Valencia College. I received a letter telling me that I'm going to start the program in January 2013. Yes, I know more than a year waiting to start, that's crazy. Right know I went to TECO and they are not accepting the TEAS test that means I have to take the HESI. I would like to know if anybody took the HESI test and if its possible to let me know what material and questions are on the test. Thanks, EVE

Sorry, wish I could help. They just recently changed over to HESI. I took the TEAS to get in.

Val

I can't tell you anything about the HESI.... I took the TEAS.. sorry.. However... I graduated in 7/11 from TECO and took and passed my boards the following month!!! :nurse:

So, now I am just a lisenced LPN loooking for a job that is NOT in a NH!!!

Best of luck to you!!

Val Donovan

Congratulations ValDonovan, I hope you can find a job ASAP. I just bought the HESI review book and hopefully I'm going to take the test this month. I hope I can pass with 80% or more to enter to the LPN program. I already complete the pre reqs for the RN program at Valencia and I applied but they have a waiting list of almost 2 years. If you find any info of the HESI test let me know. Good luck in everything. God bless u!

Congratulations ValDonovan! I wish you the best on your job search.

I took the HESI exam a few weeks ago, submitted my application and required documents for the evening LPN program at TECO. I have an interview next week. I am excited and nervous. I hope I get through....

Hello Magda81; Congratulations! I'm just curious about the Hesi test, I have the Hesi review book and I don't know if I have to study other books to pass the HESI. Can you help me please!!! Thanks a lot...Good luck in the interview...

evelina3,

I did not buy the by the actual hard-copy of the HESI review book. I brought the online course with Evolve Elsevier. It is called Evolve Self Study Online Course.

It is not really an online course, I think it is just the book posted online. The online book is called Admission Assessment Exam Review 2. Anyway, I review everything in that online book and took all practice exams.

Apart from the online book, I also practice my math skills by printing worksheets from the website called Math is Fun.

Here's the link:

Also, on this website (allnurses.com), someone posted links for practice exams. I saved it on my favorites, and checked them out a few days prior to my exam.

Take your time with the reading. We were able to pick whatever sections we wanted to so I started with math.

I hope this is helpful.

Good luck.

evelina3,

If you review the book, you will be fine.

Make sure you know the measurement/conversion, fractions, decimals, percentages and proportions. I mostly study math since I forgot most of those stuff prior to reviewing for the HESI.

magda81,

Thanks for the tips and the links. Right now, I'm not nervous about math is about my reading, grammar and vocabulary because English is my second language. It is true that the vocabulary part is with words from the health field...I'm so nervous about these topics. I hope you can help me. I know that I can't start the program in January because the deadline is in October and I don't feel prepare to take the Hesi. I really need your help if you can help me. Thanks a lot. Hey! how was the interview? Good luck, Eve

evelina3,

Yes, the vocab words are regular words that are use on the health field, not complicated medical terminology words. Words such as labile, concave, abrupt, flushed. I don’t remember all of the words. I just know that a lot of the words on the test, I also saw in the book.

As far as the grammar, I will review the whole section in the book. Also spend some time reviewing the things below:

Singular/plural forms

Past/present/ future tense

Their, They’re, There,

Affect/Effect

Good/Well

Among/Between

Amount/Number

Fewer/less

Also, be careful with words that look similar such as form and for...

The interview was ok, I hope I get accepted. I think I could have answer one or two questions a lot better.

Take your time and good luck.

Magda81,

Thanks a lot for the hints. I'm just finishing and reviewing the Math section, the only thing that I don't understand very well is the measurement conversions. I just went to quizlet page to understand it better. That's the only part that I have to study more. If you can tell me something about this section I will appreciate it. Thanks a lot. Eve
