TECO LPN 2011

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Published

Hello everyone!!! Anyone attending TECO (KISSIMMEE, FL) LPN Program starting Jan 2011? I can't wait. Sooo excited. I hear it is a great school. Good luck to everyone starting LPN soon. :stdnrsrck:

@ Magda 81: have you took there TABE test? If not, I could help you out with the review studies..

TECO night program is 18 months. Clinicals are every other weekend and start at 6:30 in the morning. During Fundamentals you will do clinicals at a nursing home (basically CNA type work). Once you start Med Surg you will do clinicals in the hospital. Night class meets 3 nights a week, 4 hours a night.

I am in the day program that graduates in July. Your first class is Core, then Fundamentals, A&P, Pharmacology, and Intro to Med Surg.

Hope this helps some. Let me know if I can help in any way!

Good luck,

Val

Hi!

I am planning to start the Lpn program in TECO on January 2012. I will appreciate any help or recommendations on the TABE test.

Good luck with the TABE.. FYI.. TECO has changed from the TEAS for admission to the HESI test. I just graduated last week. It is a crazy intense program!!

TECO Graduate LPN 7/19/2011

Were you able to apply for the night class?? They are starting in Oct.

Val

Thanks for the info,do you have any recommendation for the Tabe test?

I am planning to start in January 2012, day program.

Sorry, I don't have any advice for the TABE. I took it a couple of years ago and don't really remember much about it. You might try googling for some tips or study info.

Best of luck!!

Val

Oh ok, By the way congratulations you made it!!!! Regarding the intensive lpn program, many tests, presentations?? I am curious and nervious. Tell me more about the program. Is the program 11 or 12 months?

The day program is 11 months.

Mon-Fri 7:30-2:00.. lunch 11:15-12:00

You will start clinicals after about 6 weeks of school.

Clinicals will be Th and Fr from 6:30-1:30 and will be at either Osc Health Care or Avante NH in St. Cloud.

Tests are almost every day, especially for the first couple of months. Use your powerpoints to help you study. Figure out what your study style is... many people use flash cards, some people do study groups.. others study better alone.

You will have your first test on day 3 and will have a test almost every day after that for the first couple of months. There is 1 presentation or paper per module.

Your first course will be "Core" then "Fundamentals." After those you will get A&P and Pharmacology.

Mrs. B will be your main instructor in the begining.

The program is very intense but it is NOT impossible!! Do not let yourself ever fall behind. And do NOT procrastinate!! Be ready to work HARD!!

It is a very good program!! I have learned sooo much in such a short amount of time! Hospital clnicals are GREAT!!!

Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there is anything I can help you with!!

Best of LUCK!!!

Val
