Hello everyone!!! Anyone attending TECO (KISSIMMEE, FL) LPN Program starting Jan 2011? I can't wait. Sooo excited. I hear it is a great school. Good luck to everyone starting LPN soon. :stdnrsrck:
I am currently in the LPN program at TECO. I am in the day class that will graduate in July!!! The program is very intense but it has been a great experience so far. Are you starting in Jan.? If so, our class will be your "seniors". :)
We get a lot of clinical experience, which really helps.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need any help.
Good luck!!

Hey you!!I did great on the reading and writing but a 9 on the math so I need to fresh up on my math skills. I'm going to do the cna course in the mean time while taking my pre-reqs for valencia's nursing program. I'm still really considering the lpn program though...CONFUSED!! lol I wish you the best of luck!!!
what was included on the tabe test for the math part? also how is the teas test, I want to go to TECO in May if I can get in. Thank you.
It has been quite a while since I took the TABE so I really don't remember what was on it. The TEAS was not too bad. TECO currently does not have a minimum requirement on the science part so it does not matter how many of those questions that you miss. I went to the TEAS website and ordered their study guide and it helped me.
You definitely want to get all your tests and paperwork done ASAP and get everything turned in to Trina. They will continue to take apps until their deadline and then they will call everyone in for interviews. After interviews then they choose about 30 students for the class.
Good luck and feel free to contact me if you have any other questions or anything else I can help you with.

No problem I totally understand your fears. I took the Tabe 2 or 3 years ago.. but before that ... Well I graduated high school in 1987 and never got a college degree. I was scared to death that I would have forgotten way too much to be able to pass. (Especially math!!)
I think there are TABE study guides you might want to look into and see if they help you review.
Best of luck!!
Keep me posted!

The full time day program is 11 months. The part time night program is 18 months. The next day class starts in Aug and would finish next July. I am currently in the program full time. We just reached half way and will graduate July 19.
Please feel free to contact me if I can answer any questions or help in any way!!

Can't advise on the TABE because I did not take it. I did take the TEAS. I bought a study guide online and used it to review. As of right now there is no minimum score requirement for the science portion of the TEAS.
The program is pretty intense. I started in Aug and will graduate July 19. (fingers crossed)!!
Let me know if you have any questions or if I can help in any way!
Take care,

Thank you for the reply, now when you say intense what do you mean? is it really bad?
The first couple of months you have a test every day. There is 3-4 hours of studying at every night plus that much for studying and projects on the weekends. Because it is such a short program, they shove a lot of information into a short amount of time. It is doable if you are willing to really work at it. There is definitely no down time and you can't slack once you start the program.
I only have 3 1/2 months left of school and still feel overwhelmed at times over the amount of work that we have to do. Of course, the fact that I am a natural procrastinator doesn't help.

Thanks Humanatarian123 and giarmar,
I'm at Valencia and graduating with my Associates in Arts this semester. I actually did most of my classes online which was a good deal. I've applied to UCF for Spring 2011, but considering doing my LPN. It seems as though most of the programs that I've called start July or August 2011. So we'll see what happens, I've called Lake Tech, Orlando Tech, and Teco so far and all of them start around the same time. I'm just waiting for my Associates and Arts degree to post to my transcripts, and I'm heading over to these schools to apply so I don't have to take the TABE, and just to see how I do on the TEAS. Giarmar, keep us posted how the program goes I know your excited. It's an exciting time. You'll do great. Good Luck!
