Hello everyone,
I'm applying for the CSULB Spring 2011 program and contemplating on whether or not I should retake the test. I got 80s and 90s on all the sections except science . I got a 66.7 there. Should I retake it or am I good to go? I am planning on applying for the next TEAS exam on Aug 12, which leads to my next question. I am aware that CSULB doesn't really care how many times you take the test, but is there some rule about how frequently it can be taken (for example, once per semester)? I couldn't find any info on that on their website and it's a little late to call them now.
Also, CSULB says that they look at the overall TEAS grade. Does this mean that they will only look at and care for that 84.7%? Or will they scrutinize each individual section and check my scores on them, and then take the overall score into account. I'm proud of all my section scores except science.
My science GPA is 3.0 and GE GPA 3.5. It's a little low, I know, but I hope it's enough to make it in.
What do you guys and gals think?
The total maximum points an applicant can have is 10 points.
Science prerequisite GPA (minimum GPA of 3.0)- 4 points maximum
General prerequisite GPA (minimum GPA of 3.0)- 2 points maximum
General TEAS score (minimum score of 70%)- 2 points maximum
TEAS math Score- 2 points maximum
*All courses in progress are factored into the GPA as a C.
Science GPA + (General GPA/2) + (General TEAS score as a decimal x 2) + (TEAS math score as a decimal x 2)= total points
So for example a person with a 3.8 science GPA, 3.5 general GPA, 85% general TEAS score, and 90% math TEAS score would calculate his total points as followed:
3.8+(3.5/2)+(.85x2)+(.90x2)
3.8+1.75+1.7+1.8
=9.05 points
I hope this helps!
They're still accepting versions 3.0/4.0. They just began administering the TEAS V on January 2011 so you're good to go with your old results.
I read someone's response above that for the Spring CSULB only accepted current CSULB students. Does that mean I need to be enrolled in classes at the university to apply for the Spring 2012 basic program?
I wonder if transfer students will be able to apply for spring 2012, since our governor is trying to (and likely will, to a certain degree) cut educational budget in balancing our state budget. Worst case scenario, they might even cut back on acceptance for both spring & fall. I would have some back up plans just in case.
I'm applying for the Spring 2012 too! Now I'm all stressed out as to whether they're going to accept me or not since I'm not currently a CSULB student and I've worked my ass off keeping a 4.0 I'm taking my TEAS next Thursday and I haven't even studied for it yet. I got provisionally accepted for LBCC's LVN-RN program and they only gave me like a week's notice to study for the test. Totally stressing but at the same time lagging on studying.
