HI everyone,

I took my TEAS test on saturday. IF you have any questions please feel free to ask since it is still fresh on my mind. 3 tips I can say that will help is time mangement, speed, and ask yourself do I have evidence that supports my answer. I am still waiting for my scores but I don't mind helping others who are wondering for answers.

I take my exam on monday. The reading and english portions are my weakest links. Do you have any advice?

Still waiting too. Any idea how long it will be? I took mine last Saturday.

I have scheduled my exam for 2/12 and need to get reviewing the materials!! In the English portion, was there alot of questions about nouns/verbs/pronouns/etc? What about word definitions with really fancy words that unless I read a dictionary I wouldnt know? HAHA!!! :writing:

Thanks for your help!!

I only had one Verb question on my test and there were at least 5 word definition questions but they are easy bc based on the context of the sentence you will know what the word means. No worries.

Hi [COLOR=#003366]MurseGabe2B,

I defenitly would recommend studying each topic throughly to make sure you understand. I went through each topic for the english and reading. For example: If the topic for Reading was finding topic and summary sentence I typed it in google as finding topic and summary sentence practice. I used practice worksheets for every single topic in McGrawhill's orange workbook. That book helped me soooo much and I do beleive it helps you prepare. I also recommend testprepreview.com and youtube. I am a visual learner so I typed in youtube sentence structure or capitalization (since the book says know when to capitalize titles, names, important places, things, people,etc.). My tips on the english section is to type in worksheets on paragraph comphresion. This is very critical for the reading section being under so much pressure you have to work fast. I was not able to go back to check my answer so make sure whatever you choose ask yourself what evidence in the paragraph helps supports the answer I choose. I was getting nervous on the reading because it went so fast!! Not enough time. The passage I had on my test were not long. It's just a matter of understading what the passage is about, the purpose, what can you infer, and what type of writting is the passage. The english section make sure you know how to use correct tense past/present was or were, has or have in a sentence, subject and verb argremeent, know which sentence is correctly written, use context clues when it ask what does this word mean look at the end of the sentence or before the word for clues. Just make sure for each topic you feel comfortable with and have reviewed each bullet. With practice worksheets, maybe old textbooks you have for english/reading, and youtube. Hope this all helps! Anymore questions let me know.

You took yours the same day I did.lol. I am on the edge of my seat checking everyday! Like I want to know to feel relieved but than again I'm scared to know. They said it takes 48-72 business days. So you wouldn't count sunday. I'm going to check Friday and I will keep you posted. Let me know if you get yours too. I'm so anixous. I know I did bad in reading only because its not enough time smh. It takes time eliminating choices. Then if you don't bubble in an answer they mark it wrong.

HAAAA. My test was not alot of questions about that. Now that I understand how this whole TEAS works not every topic that you study for will be on there. That does not mean to not study everything you should but mine did not have all that. On my English I only had: Reword sentence, sentence structure, what word is misplaced, what's wrong with this sentence, which sentence is a complete sentece, which sentence is punctuned correctly, correct tense, know when to use , : ; . in sentences. Know when to use 's and s'. I'm sorry I have used the word sentence at least 10 times now haaa but I'm making a point that in google study worksheets on sentence anything lol. I only had three or four questions where it asked what does this word mean? Actually it was not bad because you had context clues around the word that stood out to the point you could figure out what the word means.

Are u in Georgia? I took mine at mercer. Anyway, I will be sure to let u know as well! My weakness and worry was the math. Fingers crossed.

Wow. . . . thank you so much!!! I diverted most of my attention to science and math, and now my reading and english are lacking. My school is so competitive regarding TEAS scores. But I truly appreciate your advice : 0

I am planning to take the test in May or June for the Spring 2015 semester. I have the ATI TEAS V study guide, McGraw Hill 5 TEAS exams and a book called Math for Nurses. I have plenty of time (I am going to start studying Monday) but I am making myself insane. I did well in A&P 1 and 2 and Nutrition (prereq at SUNY WCC). I am taking Chem in the upcoming Spring semester. I had to remediate in Math and received an A in Pre-Algebra (taking Algebra spring semester). I know these classes will help me but what other sciences should I prepare for?? I am an A student in English but I'm hearing that the English/Reading portion are pretty tough.

Will the Barrons Regents review books help me review as well? Any advice is appreciated!

:)

Yes I am in georgia. I took mine at mercer too.lol. I just got my results today. So check your ATI. I'm sooo scared to know.
