  1. Thank you to all
  2. I received my acceptance letter to North Shore Community College yesterday, which was my one and only choice! Words truly can't describe how I am feeling right now. The anticipation was unbelievably nerve-wracking. I literally almost crashed on my way home, when I noticed the GIANT envelope hanging from my mailbox. I stopped the car immediately and ran to my house. I ripped open the envelope and as soon as I saw "Congraulations" I felt invincible. But I took deep breath and realized that this was only the beginging of a demanding, rewarding, and fulfilling journey. I can't wait for classes to start this upcoming Fall. At the same time I am nervous and don't know what to expect. The fact that I have no healthcare experience whatsoever makes me cringe. I don't think being a male will affect my educational experience. But my school is predominantly females. That being said I am ready to dedicate myself to be the best possible student nurse I can !!! Nurses ROCK
  3. Thank you guys. "Sacrifice," I knew it looked wrong haha !!! But I totally agree I need to talk more about how I am going to balance and manage my time and write less about my personal life ! You guys are awesome : 0
  4. Thank you I was debating on whether or not to make a couple jokes. I know I need something to seperate my response from other candidates. But you're definitely right it seems to "jokey" and that is why I put it on AN to get other people's input! : 0
  5. My school requires a questionnaire in order to apply to the Nursing Program and here is my rough draft to one of the questions. How will you manage your academic and personal life in order to succed in the program? I acknowledge that the Nurse Education Program is physically, emotionally, and mentally demanding; therefore, if accepted I plan on commiting my utmost attention to the rigorous program. Upon acceptance, my goal is to be equally dedicated, prepared, and successful throughout the entire learning process. I will enter the program as a blank slate, a tabula rasa; ready to learn, observe, and listen as much as possible. Time after time, I hear that success in the Nursing Program is contingent on time management and organization; luckily those two valuable skills are second to none in my daily routine. I do not anticipate working while in the program. I've heard way too many horror stories of students failing the program due to excess work. The fact that I have completed most pre-requisites will allow me to focus and divert all my attention to the primary nursing courses. I've come to the realization that my social life will be non-existent, so I will break up with my girlfriend and sell all my precious electronics. All jokes aside, I understand that sacrafices will have to be made in order to optimize my chances to be succesful in the program. If it means studying forty hours a week or not going to my sisters wedding, I will do whatever it takes, legally, to succeed. Any advice??? Critically, punctuation, grammar, etc. . .
  6. Wow. . . . thank you so much!!! I diverted most of my attention to science and math, and now my reading and english are lacking. My school is so competitive regarding TEAS scores. But I truly appreciate your advice : 0
