TEAS EXAM: I failed... Anyone take it with some advice? I failed the science portion. GRR... I am very weak on life science and general science. I was wondering, if you take it the second time, is it the same test or is it a different one with all new answers?
Thanks, I need all the help I can get!
I just finished the test, got an individual score of 93.5%
Know your mean, mode, and median.

Wow! The response from the initial post! I am glad to see that I am not the only one who is 'nerved up' about this!
I need tips! Good things to study! Ideas/tips welcome!
The thing that is irritating to me is that I got into the RN program at school but have to take this test the semester before I start clinicals...and if I fail then what? I studied and spent money for what? This test is new to me...not sure about to the school [owens-ohio] so I need some advice.
The test is really not that difficult. Just study for it using the ATI Study Guide and McGraw Hill's Nursing Entrance Exam Study Guide. Buckle down and study these textbooks 3 weeks before you take the test and you should do fine.
Also I would recommend that you purchase the practice exams on the ATI test website. Questions on there accurately reflect the sort of questions you will see on the test.
Good luck!!
Yes that is a good idea. I took Version V and a day before my interview for the school l applied to, l was told told that they only accept Version IV. Now am preparing to go take the 4 in less than a week. Am freaking out because l did well on my interview and l was told that the only thing holding them back from making decision is my Teas score.
Here is the skinny on the TEAS:

I hope that helps.
reannen has got it 100% spot on. Great summary, those are exactly the things you need to ace the TEAS, especially the math part. You can shave a bunch of time off the math, if you look at the answers first. There are usually 3 answers that are nowhere close to what the real answer is. If you can estimate what your real answer should be, you can eliminate at least 3 of the choices.
I had to do the same thing for the GMAT. It's all about time management. If you are cutting it close on time, you WILL make bad choices on your answers, it's as simple as that.
There is so much information here! I wish I know this place before I took my second test!
I don't know how to prepare for the exam, and then I went to take the test. Plus, English is my second language, so I did very bad in my English grammar part.
If anyone needs to retake the test, the best way is to remember all the questions, especially the questions you are not sure, and write them down after the exam as soon as you can. I took the second time, the questions are same. I didn't know it, so I repeat the same mistakes again.
If anyone want to study with me so that we can help each other, please contact with me.
I don't know how was my second score. I had all A in my prep, and I really need good score on TEAS. I have been to this county for three years, and English questions were very difficult for me.

Honestly to tell you the truth, all the study guides are not very helpful. I ordered: Secrets of The TEAS Study Guide, and I sent it back, the ATI one is no good either. I would honestly suggest the Kaplan one. I finished the review book and trying out all other ones. Their science review section is pretty good. All you can really do is look for sample questions and just do practice problems.
I'm also looking for just a bunch of sample problems if anyone has any recommendations!
