TCC Fall 2008 Applicants

Published

Anyone else out there looking to apply to TCC for admission in the Fall of 2008? I had applied and was accepted for the Spring class, but had to turn the spot down for personal reasons. I'm going to the information session on the 6th and will be applying for the Fall. My brother in-law started in January so I plan on pumping him for information every step of the way!

I got in too! I'm so excited. I got into Weatherford's program as well, but am going w/ TCC.

Best of luck to everyone!

Conrats to you both! Now you'll have to come here to post in the fall & let us know what to expect in the first semester of nursing school! :yeah:

I got in too!! Woo hoo!!! Congrats guys! :yeah: See yall at orientation. :)

Congrats!!

and good luck in nursing school

What did everyone think of orientation? Did you end up with a schedule you like? I've got clinical M/W 1-7, Foundations T/Th 2:15-4:15 and skills on Thursday morning. It sounds like it's going to be a lot of work, but I'm looking forward to the challenge and can't wait for late August to get here.

Hey!! Orientation was alright. I started to doze off on some parts. Oops. But I like my schedule... I have clinical M/W 7-1, Theory T/Th 2:15-4:15, & Skills on Tues morn. I'm excited for school to start! Hope everyone enjoys their summer!

:onbch:

I thought the first part of orientation was very dull. It wasn't til after lunch did we really learn anything about the upcoming semester. That being said, I can't wait til August. I'm beyond ready to start!!

I Love my schedule...

M-Foundations 8a-12p

T/Th-Clinical 1p-7p

W-Skills 2p-5p

Good luck all!

Good luck ladies. I just graduated the TCC nursing program and boy oh boy....was it tough. I think our class is down to like 50 people out of the 110 that got accepted. It takes hard work and dedication to get through this program. And did I mention lots of studying? That too.

Good luck ladies.

And gents too I presume?

I noticed that there were actually quite a few of us of the Y chromosome there at the orientation (roughly 20). There are four of us in my clinical group! That has to be a rarity.

I'm so sorry. Yes gents too! I only remember seeing about three guys in my beginning class and none made it to the end....I think they may be a semester behind me. I hope, I haven't seen them around.

It's an extremely hard program....but I would hope they would try to make it a bit easier than what we had it. An almost 50 % fail rate is just a bit too many in my opinion. Just read your book and you're assigned readings and you'll do fine. Let me say though when you get to pedi/ob, read the assigned readings about 4 times. That's what I had to do in order for it to all absorb.

I didn't actually count the number of guys in the crowd but I noticed about 20-ish or so give or take a few. Including myself there is 1 other gent in my clinical group (2 total).

I think its great that men are making more of a presence in the nursing field, I'm excited to be included in that group.

I'm so sorry.

No problem, just busting your chops.

That's lines up with what I've heard through the grapevine described as the "hell semester".
