Anyone else out there looking to apply to TCC for admission in the Fall of 2008? I had applied and was accepted for the Spring class, but had to turn the spot down for personal reasons. I'm going to the information session on the 6th and will be applying for the Fall. My brother in-law started in January so I plan on pumping him for information every step of the way!
Here's a link to their nursing info:

The next deadline will be in the fall for Spring 2009. They accept students every fall & spring semester.
Approximately 400 apply and 100 are accepted. You will need to have most (if not all) of the pre-requisites completed to be accepted into the program.
The classes are held on the south campus, but you can take the pre-req's at any campus.
For help w/ the TEAS test, you can go to www.atitesting.com and click on "Students" and it should say, "Entering Nursing School - TEAS" and you can get the study guide from there or pay for some online practice questions. OR I know some of the TCC campuses sell the same study guide in the bookstores. The TEAS test isn't too complicated. Although, I know everyone tests different. In my opinion though, the study guide helped quite a bit. The science section on the TEAS is usually the part that people don't score quite as high on is what I've heard, and I think TCC considers the science section of the test more than the reading, math, etc. I could be wrong though..
And in reply to your other post... I don't know what campus you will be attending, but I liked Gargan and Pulse for my anatomy courses. I took Gargan at the NE campus and Pulse at the Southeast. And then for Microbiology I took Matthai at the NE campus. Excellent professor. Loved him.
And you can go to www.pickaprof.com to look up how people rate the professors at TCC. I guess that can give you an idea on who to pick for your classes...
if you are a lvn then you are applying for the fast track and the last i heard they only accept applicants from jan to feb. i applied the first year they started the program and did not get in . i had a 3.5 but lower than average test scores. i do not do well on these stupid standardized test. when i applied i had heard they accepted between 15 and 20 because they join the 2nd year students so there is really not that many spots. this program also accepts paramedics and emt's . most of the bridge programs around here take applications in the spring and admit in the summer or fall. good luck to you . i can recommend some teachers if you are interested (south campus) ..
please i really need ur help whats in the application packet and any idea how many people apply and how many do they take and which campus are the nursiing classes taken at cause tcc has different ones and are the classes done every year? thanks in advance cause iam really lost right now being new to fort worthleoprincess
Hey all. If your taking Micro on the NE campus, take Matthai !!!!!
Anyhoo, I'm going crazy here. I keep checking the mail hourly for my letter from the nursing department at TCC. I was on the alternate list last semester (SP'08) and pretty sure I'll make the cut this round (FL'08) but I need to know because I also got accepted at Weatherford's ADN program just last week. I need to confirm w/ them by the 11Apr08, and I would hate to tell Weatherford yes and then cancel on them you know?
Best of luck to everyone! Hope to see May 2nd!
From reading the thread for TCC hopefuls for the Fall of '07, acceptance letters didn't arrive until the third week of April. So, we're not too far away from getting the news.

Heck, I have recommended folks go out of their way and go to NE just for his classes! I actually plan to sit through it again in the next year...not for credit, but just to be able to absorb his teaching that I couldn't fully appreciate when I was stressed over GPAs and such. A brilliant man, and one of my best memories of the whole 4 years I was in school.
Good skill to all that are waiting (I don't believe in luck, I believe in your skills and knowledge!).
Hi everyone, from reading some other posts it looks like people are starting to get their letters. I haven't gotten mine yet, literally right after I read that someone got their letter the mailman came, but he didn't even stop at our house.
I applied this time even though it's unlikely I'll get in. I'm taking A&P II and Micro this semester, after that I'll be done with all the prereqs. I did really well on the TEAS test with a 91 overall (100 in reading, 91 in math, 93 in science, and 85 in English).
Reading all the horror stories online about people with near perfect applications not getting accepted make me nervous. A friend in one of my classes has another friend who got in one of the past semesters with two sciences missing. I don't know who or what to believe so I'll just take everyone's stories with a grain of salt until I get the letter in my hand.
Good luck to everyone! :nuke:
