Hi guys im planning to cross of my bucketlist and its having a tattoo. Thinking of getting a sleeve one(whole arm). Wondering if I get fired or maybe have a hard time getting a job for this? I know the responsibility of it by covering during work hours, maybe wearing sleeves or wearing thermal and stuff to cover it. Any insights and opinions? Thanks!
Nope. You misunderstood us. Absolute respect for the people who have been wronged and how they feel about tattoos. I was responding to the fact that those of us who have it as art or an expression of something we feel is beautiful, shouldn't be spoken about in the same context. AS it all tattoos are offensive.
Who decides what is art and what is good art? Glaring skull and crossbones and the grim reaper are considered art also. A syringe with a needle dripping blood is as well. Many would argue tattoos of nude women are artful. I have seen many tattoos of nude men and women which are very well done. If they are art they should be allowed to show them, right? As I stated before, the "hate" groups have their own form of art. Some is actually very impressive and "artful" if you don't know or care what it represents. If they can get away with it, there is no reason for them to cover their "art". Art is more about interpretation. Why is your art better than others and others get restricted because of content? Who determines this? Even the courts have a difficult time.
You see, this is the reason some places have to make blanket rules to be fair to all. Some do appreciate the freedom of speech and of art so they do not want to be the ones to determine whose art is more appropriate than others. You can't always have it both ways without forming some type of censorship on what you think is "art". Will your opinions of certain art change in the next 5 years? Probably. Change is good. If something is permanent, there's no going back. As long as you are mature enough to accept the consequences and understand you could be limiting your options, do whatever you want. Just remember, a few people have told you there might be consequences so no need to get upset or blame others who don't appreciate your art and can exercise the own rights to hire who they wish.

People that use the quote 'Make America great again. Build the wall and deport them all.' indicates to me trash or low education. People that have also "seen many a dancer with them" also indicates to me the same.
Just sayin'!
Glad to see you have such high life expectations.Tattoo to me indicate trash or low education, I have seen many a dancer with them
I see nothing wrong with tattoos, as long as they're not inappropriate, like curse words or obscenity, or like someone else said a swastika or something. I don't think it'd be the best idea to get one on your face or anything either, painful and unable to cover it! Even though a sleeve is a lot of area to cover, it's still doable! I work in occupational medicine, and many of my coworkers have wrist tattoos or other small arm tattoos. They aren't required to cover them. One girl that worked there briefly had a tattoo covering her wrist all the way to her elbow (like a backwards partial sleeve I guess?). She had to wear our approved scrub jacket at all times since we are not allowed to wear long sleeves under our scrubs. I live in the South and it gets extremely HOT, but she had to always wear her jacket! As long as you're aware of the possibilities, go for it! It's your body.

Get tatted. I have both arms sleeved up and I haven't had a job yet that made me cover them. However, I do cover them at my current job just because for some reason it seems appropriate to. However, I really don't have to. If you do get a sleeve check out a company called Under Scrub. They make great long sleeve shirts for under your scrubs that aren't hot at all! Good luck
