Tarrant County Spring 2012 Applicants

I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.

I'm gonna pay for my skills kit soon, but for the CPR when the date gets closer cause I know I'm.going to lose the receipt lol.

I bought (specifically for this) an 8-pocket expandable folder labled NURSING so that I can keep up with everything that is related. Every single sheet of paper is in there, although the 8 pocket are already not enough to sort everything to my liking. LOL

Is it just me, or is time standing still now? December 2nd can NOT get here soon enough . . .

Just completed my background check, so that's one more thing off the list! I ordered my nametags on 11/2 so hopefully they are in soon as well. Tomorrow I'm going to pay for the skills kit and CPR certification, since I figured those were the only things that HAD to be paid by the 15th I think.

I keep seeing mention of Dorothy's Scrubs - where in FTW is that? Does it have as good of a selection as Scrubs Etc?

it is on Pennsylvania ave. in Fort Worth, and yes it is scrubs etc.

My friend is #16 on the list and I really, really hope she could get in. I bought my patches last week and ordered my name tags, but I don't think they are in yet. I also pay for the kit & the drug test, and got the background check done too. The CPR classes I will take for free at the hospital were I volunteer, actually I had to pay 13$ for the book. Done with the health form today, so I will probably go turn it in this week along with the proof of insurance. I still can't believe they picked me!!! I wake up in the morning and say to myself "I got accepted"! TCC was actually my second choice... I wanted to go to SWAU, but I take it back. I am expecting to see my acceptance letter next week, but I will decline for sure

Yeah, its going by pretty slow, but after thanksgiving, im sure its going to fly by.

Ive already got my back ground check done, im finishing my immunizations next week [yay!] & im paying for the skills kit also. After orientation im going to pay for CPR and the drug test, and get all my things together for insurance then turn everything in except the CPR stuff, buy my books &supplies and get the rest of the material things i need..sounds like a good plan so hopefully im not missing anything..:uhoh3:

I'm currently taking five classes which are keeping me busy if not... omg I would have been so impatient!!!

can someone remind me how much the nursing skills kit costs? Thanks!

Just a quick update from today:

- I spoke with ***** in the nursing department and she said that the ID's ARE different from our current student ID's - they are hanging type and that they would give us more info at orientation.

- If you have updated vaccination information (ie finished a round of shots) you can email the proof into them.

- I also paid for my skills pack and CPR certification, and the receipt did NOT show what had been paid for, so the lady in business services wrote on my receipt and signed it. ***** said this was perfectly acceptable.

That's it so far. I'll update if I find out anything else! :-)

It's $100 :-)

I thought they would be changing them. hopefully they don't charge us for a new one.. but I'm hoping It looks like the ones they wear in the hospital. Ill have to back track and make sure I.have everything in order and and do everything by the due dates. ugh, I just keep feeling like Im missing something.

It's $10 she said, but the only thing that HAD to be paid by the 15th was the background check and the skills pack, thankfully. I've been checking off that list from the packet and making lists to make sure I have everthing. So afraid of missing something.

awesome. Thanks Cross!

cross- cool, thanks!

I just got back from picking up my name tags and paying for the skills kit. My name barely fits on the name tag, haha! I felt like a kid at a candy store. Couple things to check off my very long list!
