I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.
the application period is over, now the real waiting game begins....*looks at calendar & fingers crossed* I wonder what the overall average is..I wouldn't mind doing back to back semesters of nursing school! I think the more time I have off, the lazier I get. do the letters really come in a big white envelope? or is it just one of the standard envelopes they send to You? I don't want to be disappointed /excited before I open it ya know? LOL
I just got back from the tour of the new campus. As everyone has already said, it is AMAZING. I have a few pics if anyone is interested send me your e-mail via PM and I will send some. My tour was with the Dean and one of the nursing faculty and of I tried to get info but no luck. All I got was they have had as many as 430 student apply in the past and they do clinicals at 11 hospitals including JPS some Arlington Hospitals and the Dallas VA.
Has anyone gotten a letter yet, lol, too soon?
yes, I just got back from the tour as well...it is INCREDIBLE.. They really have a wonderful setup for the program. I am even more excited to get the letters next month..this is going to be the LONGEST wait ever :/ The staff that I met seemed really excited and very welcoming.
Now the waiting begins.........
Yes, everyone was very nice. I like that they have a software programer that writes programs for the students when they are having trouble in certain areas. TCC really goes all out for their students! I have taken all my classes at TCC and I just love them. All the other programs are also very nice and they are starting a sonography and MA program next year. I actually have a friend that was looking to go to Kaplan for sonography so I was very excited to hear that.
LNTCCD--- I wish I would have known that earlier... that is great info. I would have LOVED to retake.
manowhope--- Boy did that drink help. I don't ever drink. So that one drink helped... I slept like a rock
I sat on my booty all day today, I am just so glad the application period has ended. It has been so stressful.
I really hope I get accepted during this application period, you all seem like a great bunch to be studying with.
Katiegirl - I am glad that you are alright. However, I have a suggestion. In the mean time, you might want to prepare for the next application period. As for me, I am retake A&P 1 right now and try to get an A out of it. This will give me 4.0 GPA science if I have to apply again. I also prepare to retake the HESI A2 in the next couple month and hopefully I can raise up my score into the upper 90 rank. These 2 things will give me the best shot to get in the program if I have to reapply for it. By the way, be sure to prepare and take the HESI test early. This will give you a second chance to retake the test if you did not satisfy with that score.
I went on the tour yesterday too! Wow...the East campus is beautiful. The virtual hospital was really neat. They even did a demo with one of the simulated patients. The computer lab was very well thought out. It had recessed monitors with privacy covers on the tops of the desks. The gentleman who spoke about the lab explained that all of the nursing test will be on the computer, no more paper & pencil tests. The computer lab could even double as a classroom.
It was nice to see the other Allied Health areas. The 2 other things I noticed were the massive number of stairs (my calves are still sore today), and there are cameras everywhere!
