I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.
Hi all,
Finally, I got thing work out correctly. I mess up on my test date at TCC and I miss the test. However, I am able to take the HESI A2 test at UTA today. Anyway, I am glad it is over now. I am a little disappointment with my score. I got 89.41% for the test. I wish I could slow down on the grammar section.
Here is the breakdown score:
Math - 100%
Reading - 95.65%
Grammar: 80%
Vocab: 82%
I will turn in my application tomorrow and see what happen.....
Good Luck to everyone. By the way, I hear that the average for TCC is 77% and I don't know if it is truth or not.

awesome LNTCCD,! im glad you got things worked out, there were actually 2 students that showed up for the HESI today, but were not allowed to test because they were not on the registration sheet..plus we had a packed lab so that didnt help out either lol. Grammar is one of the tricky sections because we are so used to talking a certain way, and when we are told to correct our grammar it throws us off a little because we think it sounds funny when in reality its correct, lol.
im also glad its over also, even though the waiting period is going to kill me, i can finally get back to knitting!!
BTW, i got my MMR vaccination thing figured out, the advisor told me that I should be alright since I have a validation from Tarrant County. *phew!*
Thanks TX.I am sure this is all happening for a reason. Only time will tell.
BTW does anyone know how often we can retake the HESI?
Katie - Don't feel so down. It happens to me when I miss my test date last week. I was so depress. However, I am able to register and take the test somewhere else. By the way, you can retake the test again if you want. I believe Brookheaven College will let you take it now and UTA also let you take it. I also hear that El Centro will do it too. I know a guy that he did not score good on his HESI with TCC and then he registers with Brookheaven and retake it last week. He said that his score are improve a lot cause he knows the material. Maybe you can try it.
Just got home from work....
Congrats Jefe and Husker on a great score!! That computer freezing thing is crazy!! We had one lady while taking our test that kept raising her hand and then she got kicked out of the test. They were on the phone with the test admin and she was getting REALLY upset. I had just finished up a section and I decided to just sit for a while (probably 10 minutes or so) just to refocus. LOL
Katie  I hope that drink helps you work things out. I'm sorry you've had such a rough time lately. I think you're score is still great! And LNTCCD brings up a good point about retaking it.
Let's breath ya'll. We have racked our brains studying for the HESI, scattered to get all our paperwork and apps in and now have to wonder when that big white enevelpe will come... The universe tends to unfold as it should. (anyone???)
I did that a few times too, my eyes were straining from staring at the computer screen for so long so i just laid my head down or closed my eyes for a while, it was driving me nuts. And not to mention i had a "sticky" on screen calculator, i had to press the number 0 like four or five times with the mouse just to type in the number 100, it wouldn't budge.
Im surprised they didn't kick out the person with the cellphone that kept ringing, I dont know if anyone else heard it, but they did leave us alone in the room the whole entire time, the people that were "watching" us were in the other room with headphones on facebook. Nice.
Hey all...to clear up the confusion about why everyone is seeing the 85 for the average...from what I understand, the average you are seeing is only for the day you tested. That number doesn't include all the days averaged together..That number is the average of the 35 people who tested at the testing time and date you were taking the test. The overall combined average of all the testing dates so far added up to a 77 as of a week ago.. I hope this answers any confusion...
On a brighter note...today is the end of the app period...so now we just get to wait til Nov...uuuuhhhhggggg
Holy crap the sticky calculator was driving me nuts. I think that added about 10 min to my total time! I was also not on the sign in sheet when we were checking in. Luckily it was a clerical error and they had me on the master list, so no big deal. Perhaps I should call up there today just to make sure they have me in their permanent system!!!!
Good luck everyone.
@jefe -
Tell me about it, I thought I was going to break the mouse, *click click click click click!!*Where you one of the last ones to come in? I think it happened when the room was close to being full, there were about 2 or 3 more people that had to sign in and then a couple of people showed up and couldn't get in, which is what I over heard. I was sitting close to the door at desk number 2 so I was being nosey, lol:jester: But I would call to make sure, After today they are going to start putting everyone on to the spreadsheet and start adding up ther "points" or whatever they do. Oh how I wish I knew!!
@carrie- thanks for getting that cleared up! And yes! the application period DOES end today! yipee!
@cross- I dont think we had anyone in the room with us at all the entire time, they did come in to tell us how much time we had left, and they had the door cracked in the other room, but that was all.
I seriously did not get any sleep at all last night, I dont know if it was from the days events or I was just stressing myself out like I always seem to do, I just couldn't get to sleep.
@ txhusker
Oh wow, I didn't know there were people that couldn't get in. and Yes, I was towards the end of the line for sign in. Several people had to keep raising their hands throughout the test....I don't know if they were having computer issues or what, but it was really distracting.
I'm not going to lie...I slept like a flippin' baby last night. I could feel the stress release from my shoulders as soon as I walked out of the building yesterday. Better luck sleeping this weekend.
go rangers!
