Tarrant County Spring 2012 Applicants

Published

I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.

Nope cross. I got you beat. 3.25 here :(

Aw I wish I would have known that we were penalized for going over a certain amount of time while taking the test. It took me about 2 1/2 hrs to complete my test but I triple checked a lot of my answers...

Darn my type A, OCD, test taking ways!

hey guys, sitting hear after my hesi waiting for them to print my stuff. I'm devestated I.made a 92 :(.. it completely screwed a ton of us up because an hour or so into the exam over half of the exam takers were kicked out and disconnected from the exam!! i was like ..what the French toast?

geezer I just feel crappy now..lol..

txhusker- A 92 is a fabulous score!!! Someone mentioned that the average is a 77, you are leagues above the average score :)

WHAT!! A 92 is a great score!!!

Specializes in Oncology.

A 92 is wonderful! You are WAY above average!

Where are these people seeing the averages, anyway?

txhusker, 92 will be just fine. I ended up in the same boat, 92.5.

I was really taken off track with that computer shutdown.

Never mind, carriebuzz......I took the time to look back one whole page to see your post about where the test averages came from.

thanks for the pat on the back guys..lol,:hug:you guys are the bomb.

I just hope a 92 is good enough, i saw all of the applications that have been turned in, they have stacks upon stacks, and drawers packed to the brim filled with applications. I also asked how they would determine a tie breaker between applicants with similar scores, and she said that it came up in their meeting but its going to be up to the nursing department to decide on that. I was trying to get her to tell me something about the point system without being too direct but no luck.

BUT I DO think that the advisors are going to have some part in the selection process, if not, then why would they be at the meeting to determine how they are going to choose applicants...? Get what Im saying? It may be a small part, but it's some part. But as soon as the application period is over they are going to get everything filed and put us into the spreadsheet and go from there.

@jefe- i know! the first words out of my mouth were oh $H!+, did i click or do something wrong....???? lol. then i noticed a lot of other people had the same problem. They should give us a couple extra points or something for that 10 minutes we had to wait outside, it completely ruined my train of thought. but goodjob on the 92.5! thats .5 more than me!

i think the girl next to me was either doing well or was not so well, or was just plain confused, because i kept hearing a lot of "oohhh..!!! *SSIIGGHHH**, oohh mannn..!!" and then she was unwrapping candy and eating it and it wasn't like a star burst wrapper, it was something with a crinkly wrapper, and someones cellphone kept going off. I was like SERIOUSLY!!??!! Our session was completely packed.

I did good on everything EXCEPT vocabulary, which i thought i was doing so well on. Here's my break down..

math- 96

reading-94

grammar-94

vocab- 84!!

- what I did notice was that on each portion, a couple of my questions were asked twice, asking for the same answer, just different wording! Did anyone else have an exams like that?

thanks for the pat on the back guys..lol,:hug:you guys are the bomb.

I thought maybe seeing some of the same questions was a glitch or something from the computer freeze.

Math-96

reading-96 (i was able to score 100% in both word meaning and understanding, but an 83% on conclusions)

grammar-90

vocab-88

yep, everybody got stumped on the vocab. That's hilarious about the noisy person next to you. Everyone on my side of the room was pretty quiet, but there was a dude that kept throwing his hands up in frustration. He was also one of the first ones done.
