Tarrant County Spring 2012 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.

I am so thankful for this forum and you guys!!! I felt so deflated after speaking to the advisor yesterday. I know that she wasn't trying to be mean, but it felt horrible for her to point to my B in chemistry and tell me that although people have got in with B's in the past, competition was more fierce this semester. I realize now that she was probably just trying to temper my expectations but at the time it made me feel pretty bad.

I really appreciate ya'lls rationale look at the situation!! I definitely agree with crossreferenced in that it would be AMAZING if we knew by Thanksgiving.

Well I have a C in one of my sciences so who knows!! LOL

@hopefulmender- I hate it when someone points out the small flaws.. it is quite discouraging. BUT pish-posh applesauce! If or when we get accepted, it will be bittersweet.

@cross- you're right, i know some people even apply while they are taking their required classes, even though it says they have to be done in order to be considered.

It would be great if we knew something by thanksgiving, or even right after. Ive heard that they usually send out the letters after or around thanksgiving, but who knows?

This year has flown by so fast, its so ridiculous! The application period will be over in a little over 2 weeks, and if you really think about it, the wait does not seem too bad. We have Halloween,Thanksgiving, and football to pass the time!! :lol2:

Its good to know that we have each other to lean on during this stressful/anxious yet exhilarating time!

I second that!

yes... I agree... now that we are all in our waiting period.. It will seem like the time will drag on..but look, we are already in the middle of Sept and I bet the letters will do out the middle of November.. That would be great.. We should call them in Nov to see if they have an idea of when they will go out. I know the fall class did and found out the exact date theirs went out..so will will have to wait and see. Best of luck to everyone!!

will Go* out the middle of november

I'm actually shooting for Nov 10th. The application period isn't even over and I am already on pins and needles!!!!!!!

We've made it all through our basics, and these last two weeks - WE GOT THIS! LOL I just feel like at this point, I've done everything I can possibly do so now I just have to let it be. What will happen, will happen. Plus, I'm so focused on my ASL class I don't have much time to sit and think about anything. :-)

I did my background check today. Also, I forgot to mention...the counselor at TCC suggested that I start practicing the medication math now to be prepared (assuming I get in). I found a link on the TCC nursing page. I think it would be a good idea because if we get in we are going to be slammed with stuff to do to get ready. I hope they let us know sooner then later so we have time (and money) without having too stress to much. At least some of my weatherford college stuff is also required by TCC.

that's exactly what I am worried about! say we find out if were accepted in the beginning of December, classes start on the 17 of January, which gives us about a month maybe? to send our forms back in, register, and buy books, supplies, uniforms, get our certs. drug tests , background checks and whatever else, then we start school and were slammed with homework in the first week. where as the students who applied for fall have the whole summer to prepare.

student- where did you get your background check done?

It's done through L1 identity solutions. It is the same for every school because it goes to the BON
