Wow, that's amazing! Were you finished with all of your general education classes as well? How did you fill an extra semester of time? I'm trying to come up with a "Plan B" in case i"m not accepted. Micro will be over with during the summer, what do I do in the fall? I would love to maybe get a partime job in the medical field somewhere. Hmmmm.....

I just kept taking stuff that would go toward a bachelors like, Sociology, Nutrition, and extra elective, etc. If I didn't get in last fall, I was going to take that math and history I've been putting off. LOL!!

Believe it or not, it was a letter grade in chemistry. I think. When I made it to the alternate list I had a C and retook it and made a B. I honestly believe that was the only difference.

Hey there! I have a question. I'm retaking Micro this semester as I got a C the first time. Do you think they will think good of me just because I'm trying to get a better grade or will they only care when they know my new grade? The reason I ask is that on the transcript I had to turn in there was no C for micro, it just had "repeat in progress". Did your transcript say this or did you already have your repeat grade for chem when you applied the second time?

The way I understand it, the TCC nursing department uses a point system. Meaning that for every grade you've earned you get so many points. For example and A=so many points and so on, your TEAS test is worth so many points, etc, including those extra classes you can take for extra points, ie HOW TO SUCCEED IN NURSING, DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS, and the Medical Termiology course. They may consider it really great that you are retaking a course, but I don't know if it gets you any more points. Does this make any sense? LOL!! It truly depends on the applicant pool. I know of girls in semesters ahead of me that made a C in A&P and still got in. I wish I could be more helpful but truly it's just a crap shoot. Did you apply for next fall??

Yes I applied for this fall. This is my first time applying. I just thought I would go ahead and retake micro now in case I don't get in. This way I will look better next time.

No, I didn't have the money. I'm wondering if I should take them this summer if I don't get in. The reason I wonder is because during the oreintation the lady said that as of right now you can get extra points but that is going to change. I don't know if they aren't going to do that anymore or if they are going to change up the classes or what.

I didn't take them either. By the time I decided to definitely apply for this semester, there wasn't enough time. I wonder how much of a difference they make in your application? I wish we could just find out now so I could make plans one way or the other. Let's see......only 7 more weeks, right?

I just heard about this, this week. I was surprised. Hopefully they'll keep the dimensional analysis class because for the mathematically challenged, such as myself, it was really helpful. I wonder if they are going to offer something else instead? Did they mention if the applicant pool was really large? It has been for the last few years. I was just wondering if it might start to taper off. I've got my fingers crossed for ya'll!!!

I'm sorry I didn't answer this sooner. It's been a crazy week!! Yes, I did. At the time I applied there were only two being offered. They didn't have the medical terminology class yet. The DA class was helpful but I could have lived without the other one. It was really long but I guess it offered some good tips.
