Tarrant County College Spring 2014

Published

I haven't found a thread for Spring 2014 TCC nursing applicants, so I thought I would start one! I still have 2 more classes to complete before I can officially apply. I have an A in A&P I, and hope to have an A in A&PII this semester. I scored 92.5 on my HESI, but I might re-take it.

Who else is applying and what does everyone else have?? :)

4.0 and 96 HESI. Good to know about Dec. 3rd :-)

Thank you for that inside info! At least now I know which day to take off work lol.. This may be a long shot.... But.... You wouldn't happen to know when letters are going out, would you???

Sorry, I do not :(

also....im pretty sure this is the only time in my life I've ever wanted to the weekend to hurry up and be over with COME ON MONDAY!!!![/quote']

I totally agree!! I'm actually upset at how slow this weekend is going by! Lol

@student213 congratulations on the job! How did you find the job market? Was it tough to find a job? Restricted to county hospitals? Are the other graduates able to find work pretty quick?

When you get out if you wanna work for a big hospital then you have to do a residency and hospitals offer a number of these every semester. Most of the internships get posted in October of you final semester, if you work for a hospital then they let employees apply early and some have jobs slated for employees only. For example, at THR the job is listed as GN (as in graduate nurse). They start posting them in early september for employees. This time around they had 55 spots for employees only. Then in October they open jobs for non-employees, they had 14 spots for non-employees. At JPS you only fill out one application that is open for a week for employees and then the next week non-empoyees can apply for one week. I know of 5 people so far out of my class that have jobs, of course there are more than that. Most people are still waiting for interviews or to hear back from interviews. Pay is around 23-24 and hour with $4 shift diff for nights, $5 for weekends and $9 for weekend nights.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello everyone I am new in here and waiting for a letter like all of you. I have applied with a 4.0 and 94.5 on the hesi! Good luck everyone! Hopefully by this time tomorrow we will all know...

Thanks for the info Student213, it is greatly appreciated!

How long are the residency programs?

Thanks for all the info student213 and congrats! Praying that we all get acceptance letters tomorrow!!!

@student213 thank you for the information. I hear how hard it is to find a job and how some wait months before ever getting a job. Its good to hear the market is not too bad right now. To be a PCT is it after the first semester of nursing or the first year?

It's after the first semester...

Hmm a lot of the posts for PCT positions say either a CNA license required or 1 year of nursing school completed. I hope y'all are right because I want in as quickly as possible.
