I haven't found a thread for Spring 2014 TCC nursing applicants, so I thought I would start one! I still have 2 more classes to complete before I can officially apply. I have an A in A&P I, and hope to have an A in A&PII this semester. I scored 92.5 on my HESI, but I might re-take it.
Who else is applying and what does everyone else have?? :)
Elavette04 what is this facebook group? Ok people I have gone through this process before. I have applied with a 3.5 and 89 HESI. I DID NOT get in because people who worked at JPS or MCA got accepted before me with LOWER scores. There are no ways of predicting this process. They go off GPA (sciences) and HIGH HESI scores, and if you have a shoe in by a hospital. I did not get an alternate letter. STOP FREAKING OUT. Calm down. Checking these posts every single day WILL NOT HELP you. You have to let it go! There is absolutely nothing you can do . They probably wont send out acceptance/denied letters until the EARLIEST OCTOBER 31ST. So stop believing what you read. Thank you! Take a deep breathe and calm down.
So I have a question for everyone that I haven't been able to find a definite answer to.
I am applying to TCC with a 4.0 science gpa and a 90 hesi. I am also applying to a Methodist/El Centro nursing program. Through this program they pay for your books and school tuition. You also get a contract for a job with them for three years. In this three years you have to get your BSN. In order to be able to apply you have to be an employee, volunteer, or family member of employee. They only accept 20 students a semester. So obviously due to money, El Centro is my first choice school.
Anyway, we don't find out if we get accepted to El Centro til December 1st. I'm worried because if I do get accepted to TCC we have to accept in a short period of time. Since I won't know about El Centro til later, do you think I should accept TCCs position? And if I do get into El Centro what would I have to do? I would feel bad about holding a spot at TCC just to say no later. Is that even an option? This is all hypothetical cause I have no idea how good my chances are to get into either program. Does anyone know anything about this type of situation? Any info would help.

They use the individual scores of the HESI, not the overall average. That is why on the application it never stated what your overall HESI score was. I was told each score is put into a spreadsheet and ranked that way.
