Tarrant County College Fall 2017

Published

Okay, I cannot take it anymore. I am so ready to get into school but it seems so far away. Anybody else out there planning to apply for fall 2017? Anybody else feeling like time is dragging? What prerequisites do yall have done and what do you have left? I am currently in micro which is all I need to apply. :arghh:

Okay, I looked at it from my phone, instead of my labtop. It does say May 5th. Great!

I clicked the link you posted, it doesn't say it. The date at the bottom says, Feb. 17, 2017. So I don't know.

That's weird it is working for me. Just trust us that it is there. This is not a prank lol.

Hey guys! This is my first time finally posting in this thread. I've been creeping on it since application period closed LOL. I'm so glad y'all keep updated on this because I would've had a heart attack not receiving my letter today. I feel like that meme "What year is it?" waiting for our notifications. I'm so heartbroken about this wait. I expected it to be the 21st... maybe a few days late because I know things happen. I'm truly bummed about a two week push back.

They had some unusual things occur they are working on. You will get your notification soon. Yes we all understand what it's like waiting. There's no process in a chain of who's higher in acceptance than another. They look at scores. GPA and Hesi and your completed application requirements and that's it. Usually the norm is 87 or above HESI scores and 3.7 GPA for acceptance. That's the standard for admission. If you are lower in GPA you must have higher HESI in 90s to be competitive. This is what we were told and what we aimed for in application and acceptance. TCC had a grant this past yr and accepted more students into program than usual this past semester. We took 200 vs our 130 to 150 with scores that shifted on that norm curve scale. I don't know what they are doing this year. That is all the knowledge I can provide and guidance of what us Spring 2017 worked off of.

Anyone know how to find out what exactly my science gpa is? I can find my semester gpa on my tcc but it has other classes besides sciences linked to it.

That's odd meagansensing.....my friend had an 81 over all Hesi and her GPA was 3.6. I just called her to confirm. She started the RN program this past Spring. I guess the more people we ask, the more the answers will be different. LoL

Well good luck everyone and try not to stress too much.

Here are those two link, on one it says May 5th, and on the other one doesn't give any information.

Megan is just speaking in terms of what the"average" is. All of that is subject to change based on what the applicant pool is like. I had a friend who graduated From TCC nursing in December and her GPA was a 3.3 with a 88 HESI, I applied the semester after she started the program with a 3.3 and a 89.5 and I wasn't accepted. Come to find out the semester I applied the applicant pool was very competitive and alternates had a 3.3 GPA and a 91 HESI.

I increased my HESI score and made it in. I started last Fall. Our class took in around 170ish and Spring 2017 took in 200. You never know. Megan is correct in that most people score around a 3.7 GPA and a HESI in the high 80s.

What were your grades again? An A is a 4.0 and a B is a 3.0 and so on so you just get the average I think. I am not sure about B+ B- though. There are also GPA calculators online.

i dont think the calculate the B+/- you just get a straight A or B

Since the science courses are all 4 credit hours (with the lab included), it is fairly easy to calculate:

A = 4

B = 3

C = 2

So, if you have 2 A's and 1 B, it would be 4+4+3=11 Then divide that number by the number of classes, 11/3=3.67. It is a bit more complicated for overall GPA when classes carry different weights, but this formula works for calculating science GPA.

Best of luck!! Next Friday can't get here fast enough!

As I stated, the school had grant and accepted more people with other scores from the norm. It's the competition and what is going on with the pool at the time. We had more accepted than the normal due to that was the agreement for receiving the grant. And it was 3.66 GPA for science(however you round it), you either have 4.0, 3.6\3.7, 3.3 or 3.0 when you apply. That was typo it wouldn't let me correct it.
