You can submit your application packet in person—by March 31, 2017—to the Nursing Office on Trinity River Campus East. You must: Apply to TCC. Admission to the Nursing Program is a separate process and is not automatically guaranteed by admission to TCC. Schedule a time to take the Health Education System, Inc. (HESI) A2 Assessment. Complete post-admission requirements. Complete TOEFL iBT® test if you did not graduate from a high school in the United States or on a U.S. military installation where English was the primary language. If English was not the primary language of your high school, you must provide documentation of proof of English proficiency by submitting the results of either of the following: TOEFL iBT Test® (Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language) You must earn a passing score of 83. This is the recommended score to apply for licensure from the Texas Board of Nursing (BON). IELTS (International English Language Testing System assessment of English language proficiency) You must earn an IELTS Band Score of overall 6.5 with a minimum score of 6 in all areas. This is the recommended score to apply for licensure from BON. If you graduated from a high school in one of these English-speaking countries—Canada (other than Quebec), Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or Ireland—you must provide documentation of your graduation. If you graduated from a high school in an English-speaking country not mentioned above, you must provide official transcripts and a notarized letter from the high school's headmaster or principal stating that English was the primary language of the courses taught.
