So I think we are well into the application period so, surely it is time to start up this board. I can not wait until we hear back in May. Trying to keep very busy while waiting. Good luck to everyone applying!! Hopefully we can keep each other company here and celebrate our successes!!
How do I get to the Facebook page? What is it called?

you will have to request to join and they'll add ya!
Wow! That's disheartening, but I think I did see on their website that being a UTA student is something they consider. Guess they weren't kidding!! My scores are 4.0 & 94.5 HESI. I was sooo disappointed in my 94.5 and my advisor did not give me any hope. She said, "Yeah, we'll just have to see. Some people just come in and nail everything with 4.0 and 100 HESI, so it just depends on how you rank next to everyone else."Hopefully it will be good enough, but who knows. Sheesh!
The highest HESI score I have seen someone post was a 97..she said people came in with 100s? With that vocab section I believe that would be difficult! I got an overall 95 on my mine, and did get a 100 in the math section- but the vocab brought my average down since I got an 88 in it! Your advisor seems kinda rude! Both of your stats are great and I would take the bet any day that you are both in. At least from judging the scores that got in last semester....and like we said earlier in this thread, there is not as much action or as many people posting so that is prob a good sign. We will know soon enough! Enjoy the weekend!
I also was rejected at UTA. My stats are...Science GPA 4.0Combined GPA 3.78HESI 94I wasn't even wait listed which kind of surprised me. It looks as if being a UTA student is crucial to getting in, at least for this application period. People with much lower GPA's who had UTA considerations were accepted and, I saw a few 4.0, 4.0 people with no considerations wait listed. I really thought I would at least be wait listed. I really was leaning towards TCC but, now all of my apples are in the TCC basket and I am even more nervous now. I hope we hear soon. I have some huge decisions to make if I don't get in at TCC.
That is crazy about UTA. I have heard that they do give more consideration to students who take their prereqs there, and if you think about it - why wouldn't they? It is more money in the schools pocket to encourage that.. I am trying to stay positive that when my adn is done I can hopefully get a job- even if it's not my dream job...and immediately bridge. I can do anything for a year...whether it be work in a LTC facility or something else.. I know God has me right where I am supposed to be and He will guide me down the right paths.
Thank you!! I jus wanna be done with nursing school, I have a one year old and would love to be able to finish before he's in school, I have this plan in my head and I want it to work out so badly! Any nursing school is better than no nursing school at least with TCC I've applied with a couple people I've been studying with hopefully it will be more enjoyable anyways. Good luck everyone and stay strong...I jus hope if I don't get in that my drive and confidence will stay high...
I totally understand where you're coming from! I have 3 children, 7, 5 and 2. I started my science classes when my middle child was 2, she will start kindergarten this fall, and my youngest will be 3 and go to preschool. I feel like I have to get in this fall since everything has fallen into place!!
Hope-- you and I have the exact same scores (4.0/94.5). Before I took the Hesi, the counselor said I'd have to get a 90 to be competitive so I was happy with my score. It seems the key factor getting into UTA is being partnered. I didn't apply but seeing a few of you with the same scores who didn't get in and not wait-listed tells me I'd be among the rejected. All my eggs are in the TCC basket. TCU, although a great school, is just too expensive for my blood. Maybe if it was how the industry use to be. I had a roommate back in 2000 who was a travel nurse. We were living in San Francisco and she was getting a GREAT paycheck plus a $1500 stipend for her rent. They had paid off all her student loans as well. Wow...that's a world away from how things are today! At least we can't be accused of being in it for the money and job security :)
I wish TCC would make being a student there a consideration. I know it's less expensive and I have taken all of my prereqs at TCC, but if I don't get in, after reading these posts, I'm thinking maybe I should go ahead and finish all of my others out at UTA. I just really need to get out and get to work, so IDK.......... I don't even know if that's possible. I haven't looked that far into it. You all know so much more about that than I do, for sure. I really have been planning on TCC 100%.
from looking at past scores from the previous semesters, i think most of us on here have a great chance of being accepted this fall. this wait is just putting a lot of doubt in our minds. thankfully, we only have a week to go!!!
does anybody know if the bridge program is an automatic thing? it seems to me that there would be a ton of people coming over and would impact their regular nursing program.
From what I have read on the UTA website, all I see are the prereq requirements, and of course that you have your RN license. I was also looking at the online version, so that may be the reason. But I didn't see anything about it being like this process is, to get into. Does anyone know anyone who has actually gone through the UTA RN to BSN program? That would be really helpful!
I'm just praying that they tell us by the 1st! And not do to us what they did last year to the Fall applicants!! I really don't think I can handle that!
Wow hope122 was that a TCC advisor or UTA? My advisor at TCC told me the opposite. He said my scores were extremely competitive but, I can say that the UTA board for fall 2012 looks as if it is the most competitive group that's turned out in a while so, now I really am even more worried about TCC. Although, I haven't seen anyone post that they received a 100 on the HESI. I'm sure there is someone out there! Selfishly, hoping there aren't a lot of 100s on te HESI.
