So I think we are well into the application period so, surely it is time to start up this board. I can not wait until we hear back in May. Trying to keep very busy while waiting. Good luck to everyone applying!! Hopefully we can keep each other company here and celebrate our successes!!
I'll have to take a look at it. I'm questioning myself daily if I did the right thing by taking 4 summer school classes. Part of me thinks it's wise to be tackling the medical math and reading as much as I can but the other part of me wants to complete my bridge classes now so I don't have to prolong things down the road.
I really hope we find out soon. I just want to know. It's not like I have kids and schedules I need to work around so I really feel for all of you who do. That would be making my anxiety level go through the roof. Right now I'm just hoping we find out no later than May 1st!
I actually bought a pair of shoes already. Footwear is nothing to mess around with. lol. When I find a comfortable pair I grab them---acceptance letter in hand or not! :) I got a pair of Skechers but they're from the Work series, I think. They're all leather with no laces and have an anti-slip sole. I saw them on sale with only 1 left in my size so I snatched them up. Gotta love Z*ppos!
Hi all! I just found this forum and am glad there is a group of people going through what I am right now! I can't wait to find out if I got accepted this fall. The counselor I turned my ap in to told me they would probably notify by the end of march bc it never takes them till the dead line. Well, obviously that didn't happen. I'm on pins and needles everyday. I constantly check my email several times a day. I was told my grades were well above, but I still really need to see the letter! Maybe today?
Hi JustJackie! Welcome! Yep, we all feel the same way you do, so you've come to the right place! Lol... That would be amazing if we found out today! I was told the same thing by the counselor, but what worries me is that there are so many of us with grades "well above." I've been wondering if that's why they haven't told us yet... My mind just goes crazy waiting! Lol@ maamcdonald- I feel the same way, I told myself last semester that if I got in, then I wouldn't make myself take summer classes bc for the past 3 yrs, I've taken summer, reg semester, and a winter semester class. So I just felt like I should give myself a break at least for the summer. But since we don't know yet I don't know what to do! I only have 3 more classes that I'll need to finish before I can do the bridge program, but am I going to be mad at myself if I don't finish them now? Lol who knows! I think if you do finish your classes now, you'll for sure feel better down the line that you are all done. I don't have kids either so I don't have to plan around anything. My mom did it with us so I know from that perspective how hard it is, but I can't imagine how the moms must feel! I give y'all a lot of credit!! And your kids will definitely be proud of you! I know I was!
Christin--I ordered them through Zappos. Got them the very next day and they fit perfectly. If you're not familiar with Zappos' return policy, they offer free shipping and no hassles so I didn't mind ordering them without trying them on first. They were on sale with only one left in my size. I thought I'd better jump on it since many of the places I've been looking have been out of my size. I've been reading the boards and it seems like many of the schools starting in the Fall have already found out if they made the cut...so people are shopping!! I know I have my list ready, just waiting for the green light :)
I checked the Majors Books website and noticed TCC put out their book list for Fall this week. I was hoping that might be a sign that they're getting ready to send out those emails! My husband made a good point, he said that they may be taking longer than usual because of the higher number of applicants they're accepting. I heard someone say that it could be as high as 150! I guess if that's the case, the wait might be a blessing in disguise.
Welcome Just Jackie! You're in good company here!
I've seen that many of you have mentioned that you are taking the bridge classes needed to get a bsn eventually. I.looked at the uta program, and there are only a few courses left for me to take at tcc. There are a few higher level english classes and govt courses that are probably only offered at universities. How are you guys dealing with that? Also, I don't know if yall knew, el centro notified their applicants tues, and then recanted them for another 2 weeks bc the computer didn't have applicants grades entered correctly. My friend said they had many of her classes listed as As when they weren't. Crazy, but she said she also got accepted to Brookhaven. Maybe TCC will let us know soon. Ha, was the counselor that told you that we would know in March named Rocky?
I was told you can take all your bridge classes through the junior college, including Govt and Eng. I need a literature class and as long as it's sophomore level, the UTA counselor said I could take it through TCC. If I take the four classes I signed up for this summer, I'll still need TX Govt and maybe a fine arts class. If TCC's not in my future then I'm going to apply to UTA and will have to take their 3 prerequisite nursing classes in the Fall. That's Plan B. Hoping and praying for Plan A!
That's awful about El Centro! I hope your friend gets her second acceptance letter! When I turned in my app at TCC they told me we'd hear sometime in May. She even said it could be mid-to-late May which bummed me out. That's why I was so excited to hear everyone saying late March!

I just noticed on TCC nursing webpage there is a link to Nursing Resources, then under Clinical Resources there is a link for Medication Math for nursing students. It has math to help convert dosage and lots more. I'm thinking this could be something to study now and give ourselves a head start. I will do anything to help pass this waiting time!!
