This topic was created for those who will be applying to Tarrant County College's Fall 2014 Nursing Program. The dialog is open for those who have never applied and those who have applied multiple times. Let's discuss our frustrations, stats, best practices for study and the HESI, where you are at achieving your goal, and if you plan to apply anywhere else.
I have applied and was turned down 3.50 Science, 90 HESI, 970 Critical thinking (for another nursing program). I was knocked down, but I refuse to stay there.
Let's talk!
Ok, let me clarify if you want to take the test at TCC, it's once per apply period... BUT... You can take the test other places as many times or often as you want...does that better answer the question?
Yes, it does. I am planning to take test at El Centro, but i want to know if i could take the test multiple times during an application period and just turn in highest grade. I did not know if TCC Nursing Program had some sort of limit on how many times you can "attempt" to take the HESI.
Thank You and sorry to take the forum topic to a off-topic conversation.
Question: With all of the colleges and universities having different requirements, what is everyone doing about their physical exams? El Centro requires this to be done up front and on their for TCC (if you get in) requires it after the fact. I have already paid enough taking classes for each school / university in order to fit. Any suggestions on where to get multiple physicals? In the meantime, I emailed the Nursing Department asking this very question along with making this something we can do during the application period. I mean really? who has time to keep taking physicals!
Lol, I understand what you mean. My insurance pays for 1 routine exam per calendar year. If I was gonna apply to El Centro I would've had an exam done in 2013. Then when I apply for TCC, I would have another done in 2014.... Do you really need a completely new physical though?? Can't the Dr. Just fill the form out again??? That's a hard position to be in....
