Tarrant County College Fall 2014 Nursing Program

U.S.A. Texas

Published

This topic was created for those who will be applying to Tarrant County College's Fall 2014 Nursing Program. The dialog is open for those who have never applied and those who have applied multiple times. Let's discuss our frustrations, stats, best practices for study and the HESI, where you are at achieving your goal, and if you plan to apply anywhere else.

I have applied and was turned down 3.50 Science, 90 HESI, 970 Critical thinking (for another nursing program). I was knocked down, but I refuse to stay there.

Let's talk!

@elavette04 hey sorry to hear you were not choosen this year. :( Best of luck next semester! I am sure you will do great! We were all asking about you. Their loss! :(

Yes, you do have to be a student in order to apply. I am a student with the Dallas County Community College District (mouthful) as well to take all my core classes at one time. Thankfully, DCCCD is generous with scholarship money that you don't have to jump though hoops for like TCC. And yes, the way to sign up for the HESI with El Centro is very different and fills up fast!. I do not believe you have to be a student to take the test though. The only other campus I know of that offers the HESI and you not be a student is TCU and the fee is $50 now. I'll msg you the contact information I see on the site and no, they never answer.... I always email or just go up there.

Is there a phone number I can call? I need to know if I have to be an el centro student before I can apply to the program and take the HESI... All the phone numbers on the website nobody answers.... Now I'm freaking out!!

ok, so msg is out... is this the site you went to... Contact Information | El Centro College

Awwwww... Thank you Tiffanies!! I'm super bummed... But I won't let it keep me down!!! I miss you guys.

@elevatte04 multiple people asked about you on our thread. If I were you I would just re take a class to bring up your GPA. I had a 90 hesi so that's good. I notoced this semester was much more competitive GPA wise versus past semesters. The majority of people on the facebook thread even those that wernt on the thread here had 4.0s.I'm sorry though I'm sure you worked really hard. :-(

Yeah, aww I'm gonna retake a class and the HESI, worse case scenario I'll reapply in February with my same scores.. All they can do is tell me "no" again... But I'm gonna retake micro in the spring... I'm happy you guys got in... Make me proud!! Lol

@elavette04 yeah it will all work out. What campus do you take classes on? I took classes at Southeast campus and can recommend great teachers who really helped me out. It all depends on the teachers in my opinion. I took A&P both 1 and 2 in the summer session and did well I feel because of the teachers I had. And I took Micro and Chem each in a semester and had a great teacher for Micro and not so great with Chem just had to dig deep for the A. Good luck! I am sure you will do great either way.

I've been taking classes at South campus, but I now live closer to southeast.. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated... I've been thinking that I'm gonna take micro in the spring and anatomy 2 in the summer.. Yes! Please help me! I know nothing about the SE teachers..

I just checked the Spring El Centro post.. there are people who got in with 29 points... just calculated and I have 29 points... I feel sick and am applying for FALL! AAAGGGHHH!

Hey, any tips you can give me about the anatomy section of the HESI???

@elavette 04 I sent you a private message with the professors I took. I don't think we can give names on the forum. For both classes your taking I had great teachers so I think that may help alot. I took A&P during the summer and personally loved it. It was very fast paced but was eaiser for me than drawing it out over a whole semester.

The A&P Section was so basic. Here are some sites that will help AND have questions I'd seen on the test! A&P HESI Study Booklet , HESI A&P EVOLVE Flashcards - Cram.com

Ok, I'm gonna look into it... Thanks..
