Hello, I hope I am posting this in the right spot.

I have finally been accepted to a Nursing Program (Sierra College in Rocklin, CA) for the Fall 2017 semester coming up. I was wondering if I should take a summer class of Pharmacology (I would take it at Sac City) before I start because I hear that it is recommended to take it as it can be very tough when you first come across it in the program (if it is even in the program).

is there anyone here who is a current Sierra Student, or a graduate of Sierra College who can possible give me some advice for this... or even anyone with advice?

should I even worry about taking a summer Pharmacology class and just take it when I'm in the program when the time comes? I just want to be prepared best I can.

thanks,

Todd

Taking pharm will be helpful and will help prepare you, But honestly if you are self motivated you can learn all of nursing pharm on youtube. picmonic has free lectures and if you just type in nursing pharm lectures you can learn literately everything pharm related to nursing. This also goes for nursing skills, patho, and nursing process.

It was extremely helpful and I cannot imagine starting nursing school without taking pharmacology! We had one student in our class of 40 that decided to take pharm alongside nursing school classes and he had to drop out within the first month, he was drowned in work. While it's possible to take pharm during nursing school, I would highly suggest against it. I took pharm in 6 weeks over the summer and felt it was a breeze, so did most of my classmates. Just research the professors beforehand on ratemyprofessors and you'll be fine.
