Taking my NCLEX tomorrow and Im worried about Kaplan scores

Nursing Students NCLEX

Okay so Im really nervous now. First of all hi to everybody.

Im taking my boards tomorrow and I used Kaplan to study. Ive been studying since January and my scores were really low at first. I have to admit that Ive seen improvement but I just finished Question trainer 7 and got 57%. Over all I always get persentages around high 50s and low 60s. I dont know if this is bad but is not as good as it should be. Im really nervous and I dont feel completely ready for this. I know I shouldnt be studying today but I cant help it. Maybe I need to stop.

Thanks for those who read my rant

I was troubled by my Kaplan scores also but while I was going through the NCLEX forum I noticed a few people who had referred to either themselves or people they knew only getting scores in the 50 - 60% range and still passing NCLEX so I took some comfort in that.

I think you should just relax and give yourself permission to take the rest of today off and indulge yourself.

All the best for tomorrow and keep us informed about how you get on.

I had 50-60 in my Kaplan too,and I failed,sorry:bluecry1:

Hi! I am also taking my NCLEX 2morrow, I actually scheduled for today, but yesterday morning I decided to give myself an extra day, I haven't gotten much sleep I have a baby with a bad ear infection consuming my nights! I too have been scoring in the 50's - low 60's on the Kaplan trainers! I only did q-trainer 6 & 7, 62%, 71% and readiness test 70%. I have found that many people do well in that range. For now, I am also studying even though WE shouldn't be studying.....we have tried our hardest and now all we can do is GO FOR IT !!!:nurse:

WE will become nurses.....uhmm, if you don't mind me saying this, I have been praying, not too pass, but for the strength and courage to think through each and every question carefully, have confident in myself and trust God!!! He will not forsake us!!!!!!:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe Sorry if I sound holy, but trust me, I am not the person who goes to church every Sunday and lives by the bible ( I try my hardest though), but I believe, because my prayers have been answered...I MADE IT THOUGH NURSING school!!!!:yeah: you too :yeah:!!!!! IT doesn't hurt to have faith in yourself and God!

I will keep you in my prayers today and 2morrow, and everyone who is struggling though this process.....Good vibes are being sent your way!:typing

Hey guys

I took the Boards last Friday and passed at 75 questions.

Do not be worried about your KAPLAN scores. I scored high 50s and my highest grade was a 65%. Well partly because I was always in a hurry to finish and know the correct answers. The most important thing to remember is the test taking strategies that KAPLAN mentions. The ABCs, the nursing process, maslows, what to delegate to an LPN or UAP. What to delegate to an RN from another floor. Also know safety and infection control. When you see a nurse wearing a mask/gown which patient room are they going into sort of questions.

Most importantly be confident. I was a little bit nervous when I got to the personvue center but just because my ID had been screwed up before and I dint wanna be sent away and have to pay again. After the ID check and stuff I was so at ease and confident. To me, taking the NCLEX was like doing the practise questions I had been taking.

The most nerve wrecking part of the whole thing is waiting for the results...thats torture!

I have the same concern. I am taking the NCLEX on Sat, the 29th and I'm worried about my Kaplan scores. Should I reschedule? I only paid for the qbank and my scores are anywhere between 48-89% with and average of 62%. I'm also using the Saunders NCLEX review book and CD and I do much better on those exams and quizzes. I sort of decided to get Kaplan at the last minute because I heard the questions were similar to the NCLEX. All it is doing is giving me test anxiety (which I never had in school). I see in this and other forums that some people only use the Saunders and seem to pass just fine. Should I be that worried about my qbank scores? Should I reschedule my test?

Thanks!

Hi - just wondering how you got on and if you sat your NCLEX - a little concerned you may have re-scheduled as you haven't updated us?

Hi Jane,

No, I didn't reschedule my exam and I took it on Sat. as planned. I decided to bolster my confidence a little and take a few more of the Saunders exams since I did quite a bit better on them then Kaplan. The NCLEX exam stopped at 75 questions which I think is a good sign. I haven't received the results yet so I'm waiting and very nervous. I know that 75 questions is generally considered a good sign, but I also know that people fail with 75 questions. I'll let you know what happens and thanks for asking.

Hi Jane,

Thanks for asking! I posted another thread 2 days after this one saying that I PASED!!!! Im really happy about it and have already got some interviews for hospitals near by. I heard that you pass the NCLEX if you get 51% of the analysis questions correct. So I guess I did it! I got 130 questions and nost of them were about priorization and patient education.
