Hello everyone! 6/3/14
Well the countdown is officially in the single digits.....5 days left. I take the NCLEX (Florida) next Monday at 8am! I have been studying constantly for about 1.5months now. I did the HURST review and have taken 3 of the Q review tests: score following: 87/125, 88/125, and 86/125. I am not sure if those scores are a good indicator of my chances of passing NCLEX, but I do know that I am consistent with my range of scores.
I do not feel that I am prepared at all.....does anyone ever? I hope all goes well, I have 3 Q-review tests left, which I am taking every other day until the exam.
Anyone else who has used HURST since the NCLEX changed it's format and passed??? Any tips or advice? Ugh....I just wish I felt ready......
Thank you everyone! ~Namaste~
Hello, I am taking the NCLEX-RN in Texas on June 9th as well. I have been using NCSBN learningext, Saunder's 6e, PDA book and Kaplan.
I used Saunder's all through school but mostly did their SATA questions for studying for the NCLEX. I finished all the chapters in the PDA book and it is honestly one of my favorites that I've done so far. I've kind of given up on the NCSBN questions. My scores are so random (anywhere from 55 % - 88%)... it was starting to kill my confidence. Now I'm working on the Kaplan qtrainers. I hope all this is enough to help me pass the first time. I am ready to transition from LVN to RN :)
Good luck to you all!

I am taking the NCLEX June 9th as well and I'm preparing exactly the same as you (Kaplan, NCSBN, Saunders, and LaCharity PDA). I am feeling pretty good but I don't know if I'll ever feel totally prepared... I go back and forth between "Let me take it already!" and "I need more time to study."
Good luck to you all!!!! We can definitely do it!
Friends who have taken it recently haven't told me anything surprising... lots of SATA and delegation.
LittleYogaNurse,
I too have taken the Hurst review...and I'm actually doing a repeat review just so that it is fresh in my head before I take the NCLEX this month. Just FYI, I read that there was a survey done in 2011 of individuals that used the Hurst Review and passed the NCLEX and the scores were 85/125 on the Hurst Q reviews. It didn't say if all 6 Q reviews were taken before the NCLEX but I don't seem the harm of answering as many questions as you can and knowing the rationales behind it.
Hope that helps!...and Best of luck to you!
Your scores look awesome! Keep going with Hurst Review. I used Hurst and recently passed the NCLEX-PN in 85 questions on 5/28. My scores were 76/125, 81/125 and 91/125. Make sure you know your content "without a doubt and hesitation". I felt as if Hurst really prepared me for the NCLEX, and for that I will forever recommend their program to anyone preparing for NCLEX. Remain confident, read the question and understand what they're asking you, do not over-analyze or assume, and remember safety is key. When you don't know the answer, breathe and relax, just try to answer it to the best of your abilities. I also read Hurst strategies the day before my exam, I think that will also help as well. Good luck and I know you will pass your exam! :)

RNyourBusiness.....how did the HURST q-review questions compare to NCLEX questions? Which seemed "harder"? or did Hurst do a good job of preparing you? Sorry for all of the questions! :)
