I only recently found allnurses.com and I am so glad that I did. Reading all of the posts here regarding the NCLEX has been very informative, inspirational and at times just down right funny! Every time I am feeling overwhelmed I take a break and read some of the posts. It is a great tension breaker for me. I am taking the NCLEX tomorrow at 8am. I do not feel ready, but am locked in at this point. I have studied and answered questions from exam cram, saunders, NCLEX 4000 and Kaplan. Every time I take a test I see more drugs I don't know and more diseases I have never heard of! I am TERRIFIED!!!!!

So, please a prayer for me to whatever higher power you put your faith in! I am so nervous and scared!!!!! I should have studied more... or listened more.... or been born a genius..... or had a brain transplant!!!!

Goodluck to you and God Bless!

You better expect the out of this world drugs. LOL!

I know how you feel I take my Tuesday and have studied for about he last month and a half. I know I know this stuff but like you the more test I do the more drugs i see that I don't know. I feel like crying and screaming at the world. I was a straight A student in my class. Have a 97% chance of passing according to the predictor and all through school I said I am going to make an A. But this test scares me to death. I have only been out of school since August 3rd so i have not waited to long to take mine. I am just terrified and even thought about changing my date but everyone keeeps telling me not to that you never feel totally prepared for the NCLEX. Oh by the way I am taking the NCLEXPN and I am still nervous. So I don't think it matters which test you are still terrified I feel like going somewhere and hiding for now. :crying2::crying2::crying2::crying2:

Sending "Good Luck" and many prayers your way! Try to stay calm, read the question more than once, use the ABC's and Maslows. :wink2:

lweatherby, your references look pretty good. i myself used Exam Cram, a little of NCLEX 4000, and paid for Kaplan ($499). i was a nervous-wreck the night of my exam, and even WHILE taking it.

but i passed with 75 questions :) lots of prayers did it. and allnurses helped me tremendously too! :) :)

GOOD LUCK!

First let me say thank you for the good vibes and well wishing. I really appreciate it! NOW..... the test!!! What a BEAST!!!!! I didn't know ANYTHING!!! I felt like I was guessing through the entire test. The test stopped at 75 questions. I think it took me and hour and 1/2, but don't know for sure because I was so freaked out. I put on ear plugs and headphones that were there and I could hear my heart racing in my ears! I tried to take a deep breath and calm down but the heart just kept on racing. I seriously needed some medication! Speaking of medication!!!!! WHAT THE HECK!!!!! Thank God for drug books where in real life you can look up medications because I just killed about 10 patients during the test! AND.... when I finally got questions about a condition that I was familiar with they were SATAs!!!! Seriously??? I tried to not overthink those, but I am always tempted to select more than actually apply. Not only did I get patients in trouble with poor medication teaching, administration and purpose, I feel sure that I also infected everyone in the hospital, including staff, with every contagious disease imaginable! Well, that's not entirely true. I am sure that I also isolated some poor patients that didn't deserve it! What a beating!!!! I cannot imagine that I passed that test.

No sleep for me for the next 48 hours..... so what else is new? This is the second most stressful thing that I have ever been through! There is no relief in taking the NCLEX.... only MORE stress!!:banghead: Does everyone feel like they didn't know any thing while taking the test?

Try the trick maybe it will settle your nerves while you wait for your results. Pray for me and send good vibes I take mine tommorrow :crying2: My instructor said that if you come out feeling like it was easy then she would worry because you need to feel like its hard I feel pretty confident that you did well. Do the trick and put your mind at ease and come back and post and let us know you got the pop up. I have a feeling you passed and will be praying that you did while I am praying for the strengh to get through the test and pass myself. Keep us posted :)

LanePN I will definitely be saying a prayer for you and sending positive thoughts your way. I tried the PV trick and got the pop up that says I have recently scheduled and to contact your member board. I guess that is a good thing.... but my gosh I don't see how I could have passed!

that is a good sign :) congrats!! i test in a week and a half!! what were some of the topics on your exam? you have done it! :)

Sounds Like to me that you did it. I hope mine goes that way as well. You always feel like you failed but according to everyone else thats a good thing. At least you can calm tour nerves a little. A friend of mine took hers about a week ago her name was on the board of nursing in 24 hours and licenses and official results in her hand in less than a week. So I think you did it. I am going to just look over a few things tonigh. go to bed early do a few questions in the am and go take this dreaded test. Its no use in trying to cram anything into this head now. So thats my plan

I think that is a good plan. It is very difficult to study for the test because the field is so broad. I feel like I should have studied more, but I don't know what I would have studied.

As far as some of the topics.....I had a test just like everyone else has said... infection control, infection control, infection control.....prioritization. I think I had so many infection control because I wasn't answering them correctly. Some of the prioritization was like the questions I had from all of the reviews, and some were very different. I honestly do not remember there being any specific topic questions. In fact, I can't even remember enough to look up answers and check them! I guess I was in a dumb-founded daze! Good Luck to all who are yet to take the test! My thoughts are with you. I hope I haven't scared anyone with my post. I am sure that I did not put nearly as much preparation into studying that many of you have. I am sure that you all will do just fine. I will keep you posted on my pass or fail status. JUST PLEASE DON"T LET IT BE FAIL!!!!!!
