Taking NCLEX for the 2nd time Aug. 14 and need a study buddy!

i graduated this past may 09 and took boards june 24. i didn't pass and my job has agreed to work with me in hopes that i will stay with them. so, i'm working 8-5 monday thru friday and all i'm doing is studying until i retake boards august 14th!! i really need help! i have the saunders book and am going to get the 2010 kaplan review book this weekend, but i feel like i'm missing something important. my job has been so great in working with me and not only do i not want to fail for my own reasons but i don't want my work to think they wasted their time on me. i am a great nurse! i know that, but i don't know how to answer questions. i felt as though the nclex didn't reflect my knowledge and competency as a rn. any advice would be much appreciated!!

Im taking it on August 24 11am at hurst, texas. I'm not doing any hurst review right now. I'm doing saunders, lacharity,nclex3500. thinking about doing ncsbn its the cheapest i can find.

oh ok! i'm thinking about getting the lacharity book, i've heard that was good. Nclex 4000 is also really good

Yeap! it has a lot of information especially on delegation which is one of my weakest point. I bought it at barnes and noble. yeap! i heard that nclex4000 is a good source also.

Where are you taking your exam? is it in tyler also or u have to take it in Hurst? I will keep you in my prayers. Wow! August 4 is very soon already. How many questions you did already?

i have a friend i graduated with who did the kaplan review the first time and failed and she retakes august 1 and all she is doing is the kaplan review book. ill let you know if she thinks her second time around paid off

Thank you! Kaplan is too expensive for me. I'm using this nclex3500 because its free. Hope also that she will pass it for the second time. Did u finish the nclex4000 already?

no maam!! way too many questions! i did alot of them.. i averaged 2 75 question tests a day.. scoring from 62% to 76%. it was helpful but i really need to review my content. so the saunders thing is really working for me cause i'm able to review content then take a quiz after i read that pertains to what i just read!

Wow! you did well then! I'm scoring 60% to 70% only . Goodluck to us! thank you for being so nice. It's been really hard for me. I didn't graduate here in the US. I'm a foreign student. Being able to ask make me feel that i'm not alone.

i'm testing at Hurst! thank you so much. I know we will. its just a trial and i know that we eventually make it.
