Taking Micro, Phsyio, and speech together?

Published

So it looks as if I'll be taking microbiology, physiology, and speech together. Has anyone ever taken a combination of classes similar to this? How difficult was it? How did you fare? Do you think it's advisable? Let me get your take on this please, I'm a little panicky.

Thanks!

Seems your in a similar boat as me. I was originally taking Anatomy and Physiology, chemistry, and nutrition, but I had to drop Physiology because of the fact my chemistry tests were exactly one day before my Physiology tests. In addition, I would have lab practicals the week of the lecture tests in Physiology and a nutrition tests the same day, which were on fridays. I tried to balance all three, but instead just go for two major sciences. It's really all up to you and how quickly you learn. Try it out first to see if you can be able to do it and if not just drop without grade when the date when it comes up. As to your question, Physiology I would take and speech because from what I've encountered you need a lot more time in Physiology to STUDY and MEMORIZE. Microbio is about the same and having both would definitely make things worse. Other than that, it's all up to you. Good luck!

Anyone else have an opinion on taking these 3 together? I still feel a little fearful of taking them all. Thanks!

Not sure about micro, speech, and physiology but i was told by other nursing students not to take micro and a&p at the same time.

I took microbiology, physiology, and statistics all in the same semester and worked about 12 hours a week. I managed to get all A's but it cost me my social life and a lot of mini break downs filled with many tears. Do I regret it? No becuase if I hadn't, I would have had to wait another semester to apply to nursing school. If you're not in a rush though and you still have other pre-reques or GE classes to take, I wouldn't take all 3 because it's going to be a lot of work.

I'm taking that exact same course load right now. Its not that bad, 1/2 done right now w/ an A in both (barely). 88% in speech w/ ec waiting for me so I think I'll pull an A there too. It's not that bad it's hard for sure but not impossible. Is this next semester?

I took micro, A&PI and medical terminology together. It was fine except that I got A B in micro. Micro and anatomy both require a lot of memorization that is why I would take them separately.

I took micro, physio, and statistics together. It was a fair amount of work but wasn't to bad. Compared to nursing school it was more difficult conceptually but less time consuming.

If you're a good student and reasonably bright, don't sweat it.

Physiology doesn't require a lot of memorization. Rather, it requires a thorough understanding of physiologic processes.

I would recommend this combination if you are not working. If you are working, I would drop Physiology or Micro.

ya, in Spring

If you have a job or a busy life outside of school I WOULD NOT take the two science courses together. I know from experience that there is A LOT of information that you will learn in both of these courses and you will have a lot of studying to do for them. If you do not work that leaves you with plenty of time to study, but otherwise you are going to be in a tough situation. Good luck!
