Taking 4 Classes On The Same Day

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I just made my schedule for the spring semester. I'm deciding to take all my 4 classes on the same day. My first class starts at 8:00 a.m. and my last class will end at 7:15 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday because of lab. I will consider myself an A and B student who over stressed about everything so I just don't know if this is a good idea for me. I just want opinions, to see if this is crazy for me to do this or if it's doable.

My classes are:

U.S History 202 (first class)

English Composition II

Statistics

And Inorganic Chemistry (last class)

Thanks

Good day:

It will be very hard given that spread of time (not the # of classes in so much as the total time span). If you are good at time management, you should be able to handle it.

Thank you.

I like putting all of my classes on one or two days. Seems to free up more time to study on the other days.

Hello Trisha,

I will be starting the nursing program in in spring '14. I've taken all four classes. In my opinion it's best to RECORD RECORD RECORD each class... first you go to class prepared, listen to the teacher explain during class, and review your notes after class. Keep up with U.S. History events that you're taught and review so that you don't miss anything b/c history is a progressive timeline: its like cause and effect. Knowing this helps you predict what may occur. I don't know if you are a "math person" but statistics is tricky and there are many formulas. During the semester when I took stats with 3 other classes, this class took up most of my study time. It's important to have good communication with your teacher in this math class. Chemistry is a handful because lab is included. Be sure to ask questions in class if you aren't sure... AND pick a helpful/responsible lab partner.

If you put your mind to it, your semester will be doable. I suggest an agenda, color-coding pens for each class, viewing youtube videos on college study tips for the classes, and a calendar on your laptop that's synced to your phone (gmail is excellent)... add alarms to remind you when things are due and it helps distribute your study time.

Set up your game plan and you will follow through, Isa_salud:up:

It’s very doable but you will be so tired at the end of your day. Did you schedule your classes where at least you can get a break so that you can eat stretch and get a bit of study time in. The pain that you will have is the last classes due to them being so late you will have to have will power to actually show up. I did I lived on campus and my last class was on the other side of the campus. The classes that you are taken are all classes that you will have a lot of reading and writing to do. Organic is in its own lane but once you understand the bases of the class everything will build on that. I took this similar classes format sophomore year my best advice to you is to write down when papers and test are so that you don't get behind don’t procrastinate on writing the papers or studying you will definitely get overwhelmed if you do.

I did it last semester because that's just how my brain works. But I had 5 classes back to back + a lab on Wednesdays(so that would be 6). If I dont do things right after each other or in close time, I won't be able to do it again. All of my classes were Monday, Wednesday, Friday classes with Tuesday/Thursday left to study.

I've done it, and it's not easy. By the last class, you're SO fried, and it's hard to pay attention. I'd spread it out over two days if at all possible. At least if you're anything like me! :)

As long as you have good time management skills and enjoy inorganic chem I think you will be fine. If you are someone who struggles with chem, I would try to spread the classes out a bit more so you aren't so fried by the time that final class rolls around. Good luck:)
