I am currently a second year student at the University of Kansas studying pre-nursing. In the next few months, I am going to be submitting applications to a variation of BSN programs in my state. Of course, I want to do the best I can with my remaining classes and I know what the school recommends, but thought I would check to see what has worked best for others in my shoes.
(This is kind of messy, bare with me!) Next semester, I am signed up to take Human Development online, Anatomy, Anthropology online, and Microbiology. In the spring, I plan to take Physiology, Speech, and Stats. I also hope to get my CNA in the summer of 2017, to gain extra experience and job qualification. Should I leave my schedule how it is, or take Anatomy this fall, Physiology in the spring, and then get my CNA while taking Microbiology next summer?
I appreciate any and all input! I am curious what has worked best for you and what did not. I will be working part time but my main focus is on my grades. So far in biology and chemistry I have gotten mid-C's. I need to do really well on the rest of these classes to get my GPA as high as I can and raise my science average.

Are you already sure that micro will be offered next summer? If so, and if you do well with accelerated courses, then I'd go that route. You stand a better chance of achieving all "A"s in your science courses if you take them one-at-a-time. And, as I'm sure you're aware, you are going to need an excellent GPA to be competitive for nursing program admission.

Since you got C's in two previous science courses I would take anatomy and micro separately so you can pretty much set yourself up for success. I'm taking micro and anatomy together next semester, however, they are the only classes I'm taking. I wouldn't take them together if I had two other classes to deal with.
