Should I take Medical Terminology before Gen Bio?
I took medical terminology before general biology just to try out an online class one summer, and it really didn't make a difference. It did put me at a better starting point in Anatomy, but not everyone had taken that course and did just fine as well.

Do I have a chance?
Hey, lady! I have been in a really similar situation. I am about to start my last semester of pre-nursing classes as well and will begin a BSN program in the Fall. When I sent in my applications, I was sitting at a 3.1 GPA. Even though science is really interesting to me, it isn't my best skill. So far, I have gotten a C in biology, chemistry, and anatomy, only swinging a B in microbiology. I never got my CNA because for the longest time I thought that I wanted to go into veterinary medicine, and I had a little bit of volunteering on my resume from the humane society and about 40 hours of hospital work. I was so worried about getting accepted because I know that this isn't up to par with a lot of my competition, but I know without a doubt that nursing is what I want to do with my life. That said, the interview process is going to be your best friend. Get personal with your admissions adviser, schedule private tours, and express your level of commitment to achieving your goals. Be persistent, be passionate. Despite my lack of experience and struggle with the science department, I ended up getting early acceptance to a private nursing school close to home with one of the highest NCLEX pass rates in the state. Grades are important, but if you find the right school then they'll focus more on the kind of person you are and want to invest in your success.

Taking A&P, Micro, CNA -- but what order?
I am currently a second year student at the University of Kansas studying pre-nursing. In the next few months, I am going to be submitting applications to a variation of BSN programs in my state. Of course, I want to do the best I can with my remaining classes and I know what the school recommends, but thought I would check to see what has worked best for others in my shoes. (This is kind of messy, bare with me!) Next semester, I am signed up to take Human Development online, Anatomy, Anthropology online, and Microbiology. In the spring, I plan to take Physiology, Speech, and Stats. I also hope to get my CNA in the summer of 2017, to gain extra experience and job qualification. Should I leave my schedule how it is, or take Anatomy this fall, Physiology in the spring, and then get my CNA while taking Microbiology next summer? I appreciate any and all input! I am curious what has worked best for you and what did not. I will be working part time but my main focus is on my grades. So far in biology and chemistry I have gotten mid-C's. I need to do really well on the rest of these classes to get my GPA as high as I can and raise my science average.
