should i take other classes along with nursing courses

I am starting in the fall nursing I in passaic county community college. I was wondering if it was possible to take micro bio along with that or is the nursing course very difficult on its own already? also is anyone starting pccc in the fall or is there already that can give some kind of advice about the program?

It will be hard taking Micro with nursing courses but it's doable!

I am not at the school you mentioned but micro is pretty hard. What are your nursing classes that you will be taking with it? I think that will help determine whether it is worth juggling micro and NS

I had micro and nursing 1 together, but it was only tough because of micro. I also had A&P 2 that same semester though... For my school, nursing 1 was a breeze, nothing compared to 2. So I agree with zoe92, it all depends on what nursing class it is that you will be taking it with. If it is nursing 1, (which I think is looking at your post again), I would say go for it, but if not, you may want to hold back or talk to your advisor about when to take it. Good luck!

I'm attending pccc, i start nursing 1 this fall, and still have to take micro. I heard it better to get all of the classes out of the way. So ill most likely take it this summer

It is possible. It is not smart. I do not believe anything in Nursing is "hard". There are just varying degrees of time consumption required. Make no mistake, if you do all the reading, studying and practicing that they say you should be doing you will most likely feel like you are juggling flaming bowling pins. A former classmate advised me of this when she started the nursing program before me. I didn't believe her. You may not believe me. At the very least I would say do all non-nursing courses before starting the program. If after the first semester you feel like you have all the time you need to do more classes then you can always start on classes you'll need for your 4 year degree. This is just my 2 cents. Hope it helps.

Take micro this summer!! I toolkit in the fall along with my nursing classes. It was HORRIBLE. This past semester I took history. And that was easy. But do not take a science IMO.

If you can, and have the means, I would highly suggest getting as many core classes done before the nursing classes. I did it that way and I am very happy that I did.

This semester I took: Psychology 390 Lifespan Development, Microbiology, Nutrition, Pharmacology (Therapeutic Nursing Interventions) and Intro to Community based Nursing. On top of that my "Pharm" class also had a clinical one time a week. I would never suggest a workload that I have this semester unless you don't want a life, however depending on how many nursing class you take I would do what CNorman said and try to get all of your core classes out of the way because they are super annoying once you get to harder classes.
