2015 Jan-Feb 2015 is up. they said they will increase the number of residency this year.
Hi uptotheskies- I am feeling nervous about the interview, I tend to ramble as well! I am just going through questions and thinking about ways that I can respond. It's difficult because I don't want to be too prepared and come off not genuine, but I want to present myself well. :) What address did you use to send your card to HR, if you can share. Have you heard any updates? It's so great that there is all nurses, it makes me feel a little bit better talking to someone who is going through the same thing!
Has anyone else heard updates???
Just a suggestion Lovedog31: calm down. You don't need all your epi and nor epi. I am in ur shoes what works for me is get general info the day before and rehorifice it one time. Then I stop doing it, to get a fresh air and relax. coz getting too engrossed over it messess me up. Good luck with your Interview.
I check my application today and it doesn't show that it has been looked at even though they recommended me for the peer interview ( as per the email i got). Any one else in my shoes?
Happy news, I also got an HR interview coming up. When they ask you to choose your top two units, did you guys have to choose a specific location? For example they have Med/Surg available in both edmonds and issaqua, did you have to specify which specific one you want?
Thanks!
PS: I used the email provided earlier, and I also got an automated reply.
Does anyone know how many spots are available for the residencies? I am applying to all things Mother/Baby related. I am curious how many applications they get compared to how many positions they have available. My application says "Under Consideration", but it sounds like that is not a reliable indicator of where I am at in the process. Hoping for a phone call from HR!!
I had my HR interview today. As of today, they were interviewing for all units. Neonatal ICU, however, seems to be full (not my interest). I too was recommended to move on to peer-interviewing which sounds like it will be some time in October. As for the number of residency positions, in the past it has been about 60 in total (including all Swedish locations).
FYI: I also recently got a call from the Franciscan system - St Jos in Tacoma. If you don't mind moving south, the Franciscan system is large, has multiple hospitals, and is growing! At St. Jos alone they have 72 critical care beds! Look in to it. They have all specialties.
Lovedogs31, yes I was told at the end of my interview. But, I did my senior prac at Swedish, so maybe that helped. If you haven't heard back, I wouldn't worry! For some units, the dates for the peer-interviews still seem to be "up in the air". In general, it sounds like they will be in October.
ED2012: If you really don't mind location, I would just be honest and clear with your interviewer.
Congrats to all of you!
They don't seem to want people from out of town. I've applied to many jobs with Franciscan and didn't get a call for Swedish, even though I have a WA license. But I have interviews in North Carolina and Tennessee, with only a WA license! Go figure. lol! I seem to be destined to become a southern girl...

lovedogs31,
Thank you!
I didn't email HR person who interviewed me, instead, I've sent an actual thank you card (Perhaps, this was a mistake since I was told by someone else in HR to use main campus address and not the building address where I was interviewed. I hope my little note reached the right person in the end :) ).
2 days?! Wow!
I was told that they will contact me within 2 weeks; it's been only 5 days, so I am not too panicky about not hearing from them. I was also told that the next step is panel interview with 6-8 people, and it will include staff nurses.
I am not very good with the interview questions, praising myself is hard - I am used to letting my work results speak for me :) But I am training and working hard to learn how to answer behavioral questions well in case I do get called for a second interview.
Anyways, when I am nervous, I get too wordy, and this is exactly what is happening with this reply.
How do you feel about the upcoming interview? What are you doing to prepare?
